A lovely hat for badger lovers

I absolutely love badgers, they're one of my favourite wild animals and if I see something badger related in the shops I will treat myself to it. Unfortunately for me there doesn't seem to be too many badger themed things for sale. So I was over the moon the other week when I saw this hat for sale in H&M.

We'd popped in so my other half could buy himself a new winter coat and as we were making our way to the tills I spotted this hanging up with some other hats which I think were cat style. It wasn't even very prominent on the display but my OH said my badger senses must have been tingling for me to notice it. Of course I had to have it, even though I'd only bought a hat with rabbit ears and pompom tail a couple of weeks before.

The hat is acrylic and woollen and the main colour of it I would describe as taupe, the back of the hat is completely this colour but the front also has a badger's face on it including ears (I like hats with ears!!). It is not what I would describe as a full badger face because it only has the middle white stripe and not the two which are on the side of the face but as I've not seen any other badger hats for sale I think I'll excuse it. The eyes are an orangey brown colour with a large black pupil, rather than really dark brown/black but I think this is to make them show up against the black stripes. There is also a black snout which is on the cuff of the hat. The eyes and snout are stitched on with a silky thread. The ears are fluffy and like the material used for making teddy bears.

I think the fit of the hat is great, I have quite a small head and sometimes hats can come up big on me but this just about right for me but there is some give in it so that people with larger heads would still be able to wear it.

Although it's not got really cold just yet, I have worn it a few times and it's kept my head nice and warm. I'm actually looking forward to it getting a bit colder (but not to the extremes of last year) so that I can wear it more.

If you need to the hat can be machine washed at 40 and ironed on a cool setting but not tumble dried.

I paid £6.99 for my hat and it is available from H&M stores and online.
