Advantages: Very cheap, good for all occasions

Disadvantages: Can be a little short

This H&M tube skirt is pretty much the cheapest you can get in the big market of skirts. H&M, though not a particular favourite high street brand of mine because of some of its slightly tacky designs, is a great place to buy your basics at near to rock bottom prices. These tight fitting skirts, so useful for so many occasions, are no exception, especially since many other high street brand retailers are selling them for many times over the amount that H&M charge. At £3.99 per skirt, that is a pretty good bargain. They come in many sizes and colours, and are all grouped in racks quite close to each other, so it may be hard to find the size you want, but you'll get there eventually.

I bought two skirts, in black and in navy near the start of the year when H&M were obliging to do this crazy (but by no doubt very generous) promotion of giving out £5 vouchers to every single customer, at the bottom of every single receipt, no matter how much you paid for the initial purchase. So, without the voucher, two skirts would have been £7.98, which is cheaper than some retailers would expect you to pay for just ONE skirt. Using the £5 H&M voucher, that bought the total of the two skirts to the unbelievable jumble sale price of £2.98. So that is £1.49 per skirt- I am not sure if it would be possible to find a cheaper bargain anywhere else. Even without the £5, the skirts are still very reasonably priced, cheaper than you could find in many other high street stores anyway.

If you go for the right size, these skirts are like bodycon skirts, quite tight fitting, though by no means uncomfortable. They accent your shape quite a lot, so make sure you choose the right size. They are quite short, but do not ride up too much, which is a bonus for such cheap skirts, and are also quite comfortable to walk in, which is more than I can say for other, more expensive tight fitting skirts.

These skirts are not extremely good quality, as you would expect from something so cheap, but they are not bad at all. They are made of a very stretchy material, no doubt quite cheap to manufacture, but I have not experienced any problems with the quality of this whatsoever. No obvious loose threads, no holes, no frays, nothing. This makes them incredibly good value for money, as I have had both for nearly half a year now, using them quite regularly as well. More expensive skirts may have broken down and deteriorated by now.

You can dress these up or down, depending on what occasion you are wearing it for. These skirt is great in the way that you can wear it with an endless variety of clothes; with tights or without, depending on the weather and generally how you like to look. This can give both a classy, sophisticated look, as well as a casual appearance. You can put a long T-shirt over the top, a cardigan, a jumper, whatever you want, really. A tight differently coloured T-shirt or vest top underneath can give the effect that you are actually, in fact, wearing a dress. Black and navy (though, of course, you may want to choose different colours) go with most shades in the colour spectrum, which is always useful to know.

Even if you are not particularly looking to buy a tube skirt at the moment, I would recommend for you to buy one anyway, just in case the occasion arises, especially since these can go with practically anything. You never know, £3.99 might just complete your outfit!

Summary: Lovely cheap skirt, worth having in your wardrobe!
