I'm very much a subscriber to Gok Wan's notion that you can get many looks out of a few pieces of clothing in your wardrobe. So now I make sure that I look out for items of clothing that I can use in many different situations - from going out, to just making things a little classier during the day. So I make sure that when I go shopping, that I find items that can be used for more than one outfit, and the place I seem to have found that most is in H&M!

I've been a fan of H&M for many years now; they do a wide range of clothing, for men, women and children. In varying price ranges, as they also collaborate with other designers to make some more upmarket clothing, at a higher price. They also do home wares; towels, cushion covers, and items like bedding. So they have become a really versatile shop really, with a lot of items all in one shop - and there is even now an online shop which only became available a few years ago, so it's very easy to shop H&M!

~*~ Tube Skirt ~*~

I'm currently on my second tube skirt, and now this isn't because it's broken or just worn out, it's purely because I lost weight and it just slipped down my legs rather than sitting on my hips. The sizes are really quite generous to be honest - I did have a 14 because I've got quite large hips, but it was a bit big at the beginning - so don't be worried you'll get a small item, especially since they have elastic in the waistband, and they stretch beautifully. This is quite a bonus because you can have them quite high over your tummy if you feel the need to hide it! The thing with doing this is that it will make the skirt quite short if you're tall, because if I do this it does make it only a few inches below my bottom - but I'm quite fond of my legs so it doesn't bother me too much!

It is a very comfortable skirt to wear actually, the material is really soft, it is made from a stretchy material but it's not a nasty scratchy material. It's such an easy skirt to wear, and the colour doesn't transfer to your skin either which I am quite grateful for, because for some reason despite washing colour normally attaches itself to my skin - and I try to avoid dark colours for this exact reason. Also this skirt looks good with most items, if you want to wear it with tights; I was quite impressed by the fact that it didn't stick to the skirt, and with black tights this skirt looks quite smart without looking like you're trying to flash your bottom at everyone. Beware though when you stand up, the skirt might well have moved a little bit from when you were stood up last, so remember to be a lady and pull your skirt down when you stand up!

This skirt washes really well too, I'd had my last larger sized skirt for about a year, but if you look at it, considering how many times it's been washed - it looks really close to being new. I literally spent my summer in varying colours of this skirt last year and they all look really new, despite not being small enough for me now. I'm very impressed with the quality considering the price actually - it's a bargain skirt that looks good with anything, and for any occasion. I wore mine a lot on nights out actually, with tops that weren't quite long enough to cover my bum - so it just gives a bit of extra coverage! Now they will be going on holiday with me to Italy, as they give a lot of exposure to the sunshine!

So if you're looking for a great cheap skirt to be versatile in your wardrobe, get to H&M online or in store and buy one of each colour! They come in varying colours during the year, and if you spot a colour you like order or buy it because they sell out really quickly, because they are so popular. The sizes vary by style sometimes you'll get 6-8, 10-12 styles and then others you'll have single size options; majority of these styles only go as far as a 16 but they are very stretchy so would easily to go an 18 if you needed that size.

H&M... Obviously... They vary in price depending on time of year, from £2.99 to £6.99 at the moment for a pink stripy number, which I love but refuse to pay £6.99 for! Though they go on sale frequently down to £1.99 so if you spot them, order them because they sell out so fast!
