If you have read my other review about the totes socks (which are similar to these) then you will know that I do not like socks or slippers and probably won't like these. Well, actually, that's completely correct. As well as the totes slipper socks, my mum bought me these to stop me from moaning about my cold feet.
However, i still managed to fall and slip with these on regardless of the quite dots at the bottom to prevent this. This is the reason why I don't wear socks so of course I'm not going to bother with these if they cause the same problem. All it really does is add the issue of be able to feel the irritating balls at the bottom whenever you take a step. The only time I will wear these are if I am in bed so I don't get this issue.
The material is much softer than the other ones I tried out. I am much more likely to wear these one and they do feel very nice. It's just a shame that I am the kind of person who gets fussy with there feet. This review is mostly for those who are like me so I would say they are nice for the people who like this sort of thing. The material is very soft and warm which is probably all you really need to know.
When I know I'm going to be spending the day indoors, there is nothing more I like doing than putting on a pair of slipper socks and just lounging around. My mum decided to buy me some of these Hello Kitty slipper socks for Christmas just gone.
The slipper socks come in normal sizes, mine being 4-7 shoe size. They are packaged on a strip of cardboard with the normal official Hello Kitty pictures and cost around £5.
The socks themselves are what you would expect from a pair of slipper socks being fluffy in texture and quite thick. When wearing these slipper socks my feet feel cosy and warm just like other brands. They are all pink in colour just like most other Hello Kitty merchandise. Both socks have Hello Kitty's head detailing on the outside of the leg of the socks, these heads are perfectly in proportion and look exactly like Hello Kitty, there are added bows on these heads just to give a little detailing. For those that don't feel very adult like wearing these, the Hello Kitty head does hide underneath trouser legs so it looks like you have just got pink socks on!
On the underside of both socks you'll find the slip resistant pad. This pad is made up of lots of raised bumps to help your feet grip, just like you would find on the bottom of some normal slippers. The only problem with this pad is that it isn't very slip resistant. I've got lino flooring in my kitchen and when I'm wearing these socks I don't feel very stable when walking across the floor.
I've washed these socks on numerous occasions and the fluffy texture is still as nice as when I first received these 6 months ago. However, the grip pad has declined in quality, although this pad was rubbish when I first got the socks, they seem to have almost disappeared entirely.
I wouldn't recommend buying these socks for the slipper pad on the bottom of the socks as they are rubbish. The fluffy, soft and snug texture of the socks is fantastic but you can get that with other socks at a cheaper price.
I am a lover of cool and comfy socks, and most people that know this, will buy me something related for gifts. One of the little gifts I got for my birthday this year was a pair of Hello Kitty slipper socks.
I think Hello Kitty is quite cute, and with my birthday being in the latter part of the year, the weather is turning quite cold and it is the perfect time for slipper socks to keep my feet nice and warm. The socks I recieved are pink, like most Hello Kitty stuff and are a thick, cable knit style and slightly fluffy. They have little gripper dots on the bottom of each sole, and there is a Hello Kitty head on the side of each sock.
When I put the socks on, they come up about half an inch above my ankle bone. I have found these slipper socks to actually be amazingly comfortable and I have definatley got my fair share of wear out of them already. They are very thick, and they are so thick, I am unable to put my shoes on over them (just had to test this!) The thickness is that great, I can not feel my kittens teeth sinking into my feet when she decides to attack me, like she seems to do a lot!!
I also found that the gripper dots are great for helping you walk on slippery surfaces like tiles and lino. I had no problem walking around my kitchen and bathroom wearing these, yet when I have worn other slipper socks, there was not as much grip. There is no problem walking on carpet either with these on.
These socks are machine washable and they have been washed and tumble dryed many a time and they still look as good as the day I got them. They have lost no colour at all, so fading is not a problem and they are as still thick and warm as when they were new too. I am very impressed with the quality of these socks, and I feel I would happily buy another pair of these should I need to.
I am aware you can buy these Hello Kitty slipper socks at Marks And Spencers, but I am unsure of the price due to me not wanting to know how much people have spent on my gifts. You can buy these in Marks and Spencers stores and I am sure you could also buy them online.
I give these slipper socks a 5 out of 5 stars and I recommend them for all those who wish to keep their feet warm this winter.
I love hello kitty, she is so cute and very girly. Over the years I have found I collected quiet alot of hello kitty merchandise from keyrings to pyjamas even now my family will try buy me hello kitty cutie products as gifts.
I have tried passing on my hello kitty love to my girls but has not worked far to peppa pig obsessed, dam that pig.
Whilst shopping for pyjamas for my girls at christmas last year marks and spencer's had an adorable hello kitty range out for kids including these super cool hello kitty slipper socks I had to have them.
The hello kitty slipper socks cost me around £5.00 at m&s have not seen them since in the shop however have seen similar designs of the socks on amazon uk in the same price range.
Yes the slipper socks are for girls, but come in different sizes i.e size 8-12 for young girls , 12-3 for older girls and size 4-7 for teenagers or people like me who cant resist the cutie kitty.
The socks are hot pink in colour with a small motif of hello kitty on each side of the socks. The soles have small round grips on them in a light pink colour, these are nothing like the grips you get with tote socks however they are alot cheaper than totes.
Hello kitty slipper socks are made from polyester but are thick and fluffy all over a bit like the bed socks you can buy. They feel lovely on but do not keep your feet warm like tote socks do so I don't like them from the point they are meant to be slipper socks because I do have to wear my slippers with these socks. I also feel the grip tread on the soles was pointless very small circles and I was slipping all over the laminate flooring with them on.
It is ok to machine wash and tumble dry the slipper socks and be prepared for some loose pink fluff sticking to other items of clothing for the first few washes, after that they are fine.
All in I wasn't too disappointed with the slipper socks because I loved the colour and the hello kitty motif, I did buy them to wear as everyday socks. I also feel they should not be advertised as slipper socks because of the above problems. The socks are comfy and cosy when wearing with shoes or slippers but on there own the air comes in and my wee toes were still chilli.
Kind of defeats the purpose of slipper socks so I will give the cute hello kitty socks two stars because they don't do what they are supposed too even though I like them.
Maybe recommended for the hello kitty fans but not as slipper socks, looking for slipper socks pay a little extra and get totes.
My daughter is a huge Hello Kitty fan, having a big collection items featuring this loveable cute cat, from camera cases to USB speakers and so on. In the run up to Christmas, when I saw some Hello Kitty Slipper Socks in Marks and Spencers I thought I'd buy her a pair to put into her Christmas stocking.
I purchased a pair of the smallest sized socks, although they also come in a medium and a large size so there's something to suit all sizes of feet. I paid £4 for my daughter's pair of socks although I believe they were on offer at the time for 3 pairs for £10 - I didn't need 3 pairs though so gave that a miss.
In terms of looks, the slipper socks are very cute and girly, being bright pink and featuring a soft fluffy white Hello Kitty face on the top of each sock. The socks are made of a fluffy, warm material like towelling and are pleasant to the touch which I liked. They didn't feel overly thick but I thought they would still be warm enough to use in place of slippers in the house. My daughter tells me her feet are nice and warm when she's wearing them, and she hasn't complained about being cold in them.
On the sole of the sock (or where the sole should be) there are white rubber grips which are designed to stop you slipping around if your walking on lino, tiles or shiny wooden floors. You don't really need the grips for carpet as that's not slippery, but they are useful on polished surfaces. My daughter tested the grips by attempting to slide across the kitchen floor but this was a failure as the grips kept her from sliding, so that's good!
One thing I have to say is that the grip, although it worked well to start with, is wearing down very quickly. I don't know whether that's just normal wear and tear through walking in the house, or because I put them through the washing machine, but either way, the grip is wearing down quite quickly - she's only had them about 3 weeks.
Although lovely looking, another glitch with these slipper socks is their ability to fall down my daughter's leg and start working their way off her feet. I keep telling her to pull them up but I've caught her a few times with the tops of the socks around her ankles and the actually grip section flapping around uselessly.
Overall, I think this is a decent enough product for what it cost. It's more of a novelty for my daughter than anything, but I do wish the tread grip would be a bit more durable and the tops were more elasticated to keep the socks from slipping off. Still, they were a nice enough gift for a Hello Kitty fan.
When I saw these Hello Kitty Slipper Socks they were on special offer, 3 pairs for a tenner. I bought the three thinking my two oldest daughters and me could have a pair each, but when three year old Hollie spotted us all in the same socks she decided she wanted a pair so I ended up going back for more! I've never actually had slipper socks before, the kids have had Totes but these were a cheaper version so I wasn't sure how good they'd be.
I must admit, I'm impressed. The hot pink socks are lovely and warm, they don't feel thick and bulky on my feet but definitely feel cosier than wearing a pair of normal socks. It takes a bit of getting used to wearing socks with my dressing gown but the soft woollen feel makes them feel less like actual socks, and that takes some of the self-conciousness away. The top hem doesn't fit too tightly to the calf, meaning the socks don't dig into your skin and you won't find the tops of the socks annoying you. Obviously this is going to depend on how chunky your legs are, I admit mine aren't the slimmest and they're perfectly comfortable for me!
The bottoms of the socks have a soft rubbery tread on them, this is in the design of the sole of a pair of trainers or pumps and is supposed to make them less slippy to walk in than socks. I don't think the effect is wonderful, they still feel much more slippery than wearing a pair of slippers around the house and now that more people are going back to wooden floors this is not ideal. My three year old is used to wearing slippers and she went skidding across the kitchen so many times in these socks that she now wears them as actual socks (as in with shoes) instead of trying to replace her slippers with them.
The rest of us are old enough that if we slip over it's our own fault, although clumsy Alice has come a cropper a fair few times! The tread does peel away from the bottom of the sock, something that gets worse each time they are washed and they will need washing often as the bottoms get filthy however clean your floor is. Mine have the least tread on as I'm fastidious about sock changing and can't get my head around the fact that these shouldn't need washing quite as often as a normal pair of socks.
The large Hello Kitty head motif is repeated on the outside of both socks and it does mean they will appeal to girls of all ages, I'd say boys too but these socks really are very pink! This is attached well and hasn't shown any signs of pulling away from the sock, again mine is looking a bit grey now due to the amount of times I've washed my slipper socks but it was sparkly white when I first bought them.
These slipper socks come in three sizes so you must pick out the range which encompasses your actual shoe size. Being socks they are quite stretchy so if in doubt I'd say go a size down as the tops aren't as elasticated as Totes slipper socks and if you bought a size too big I think they may go flappy over time. The sizes you can choose from are infant 8 1/2 - 12, childs 12 - 4 and adult 4 - 7. My youngest daughter is currently in a size eight so the socks do swamp her a bit, but the rest of us went for the middle size and they fit us all perfectly.
£5 from M&S.
In my hunt to find some cheaper slipper socks to keep my feet warm but still be as soft and lovely as my totes socks I came across some hello kitty socks and thought I would give them a try. At £5 they were not to expensive and as they were from m& s and hello kitty I was sure they would be good quality. The thing that initially attracted me to them was the colour they were a lovely bright pink, they looked so girly and fun.
The sock its self is so very fluffy On the top of the sleeve part of the sock is the famous hello kitty pictured in perfect detail on each sock. The bow detailing on the hello kitty is a nice added touch. The socks are actually intended at older girls but as I only have small feet a size 4 I actually found they fit me very well. When putting my feet inside my feet immediately become warm and walking on them was very soft and comfortable. At the bottom of the socks are raised bumps for grip and also the copy right sign. After wearing them on both laminate and carpeted floor the grips do work well.
After washing them they were just as fluffy even a little more so with the fabric condition.
The only problem that I have found with the socks are these. After 4 washes they seem to be wearing thin and loosing there grip. A few more washes and I'm afraid they will have no more grip on them and I will be un able to wear them in my front room as the wooden floor is very slippery. I would not recommend these if you have wooden floors or somewhere you need the grip as this seems to be the flaw of the product. At £5 for an official product I can not really moan as they would still be ok on carpets just a bit too slippery on smoother floors.
My daughter loves cats and anything to do with cats so her liking Hello Kitty was always pretty inevitable so when I was in Marks & Spencers last week I could not resist picking her up a pair of the Hello Kitty Slipper Socks they had available in their Hello Kitty range.
The slipper socks are available both online and instore and you can purchase them in 3 different sizes: 8 and a half - 12, 12 and a half - 3 and a half and finally 4-7. They are an official licensed Hello Kitty product and cost £4.00 a pair which I think is pretty good for not only a official product but also for Marks & Spencers.
The socks are very girly and are bright pink with Hello Kitty's head on each sock. The head of Hello Kitty is well detailed and looks exactly as it should. The head is really nice in that it is not just a patch that has been sewn on to the socks, it is made from a white fluffy material much like a soft toy would be. It is really lovely and very nice to the touch. Hello Kitty also has a little pink felt bow attached to the right side of her head. My daughter loved the head of Hello Kitty and I think it is such a nice effect on these socks.
The socks themselves are fluffy, like towelling material. They keep my daughter's feet very warm and cosy just like you hope in this cold weather.
The socks are not very tight around the feet though and regardless of buying the smallest and correct size for my daughter, the socks do slip down easily and she ends up with clown feet where the socks are pretty much off of her feet. I may have to do a little stitch in them to keep them up as unless my daughter has her pyjama bottoms tucked into the socks, they do slip a fair amount. Much more than they should.
On the bottom of the sock is the slip resistant tread. The slip resistant tread is designed in little circles on the base of the sock and running down the middle is the copyright for Sanrio (the creators of Hello Kitty) which is also in the same white slip resistant tread. The tread isn't very thick and if I am completely honest, I don't hold much hope for it staying in one piece after the socks have been washed (they are fully machine washable). They are currently in the washing basket so only time will tell. However even before washing the slip resistant tread looks as though it will easily peel off. The tread does stick very well to the floor though (we have wood flooring in some parts of the house) and my daughter hasn't slipped whilst wearing them and you do hear the tread stick down on to the floor and unstick as she moves her feet.
All in all this is an okay product. The design is lovely and very girly. Especially perfect for any Hello Kitty loving girl but the quality is a little bit on the poor side. I am disappointed with how weak the tread appears to be and the general fit of the socks which leads me to mark the product down by 2 stars.
Having recently bought a pair of M&S cheeky little monkey slipper socks, I came across these very cute Hello Kitty socks. Although they are sold as a childrens and older girls product, I have found they will also fit adult feet too. Being rather partial to the Hello Kitty brand I decided to treat myself to a pair of these, to wear when lounging on the sofa.
As with our cheeky monkey slipper socks for some reason M&S have decided to price these according to their size. This means that the larger sizes do sell for a bit more than the smaller ones. In spite of that I still love my Hello Kitty slipper socks and thought them worthy or reviewing here. As they have now been added as a Dooyoo product, I can share my views (and persuade you all to buy some Hello Kitty slipper socks too ).
As with many of the Hello Kitty items I have bought, these are very cute pink and rather girly. They are made from a lovely soft and fluffy textured material that keeps my feet and toes nice and warm when siting on the sofa. I do tend to wear normal slippers over the top when walking about with these on, as I want to avoid stubbed toes, knocks or bumps. These Hello Kitty slipper socks are made for general wear, so they can be worn on their own if wanted.
They have a series of small pale rubberised dots underneath as treads which stop you sliding about when you wear them on solid floors. The Sanrio licensing logo for the Hello Kitty brand is also on the sole of the socks and is again in the same textured rubber. I feel this does spoil the look of the slipper socks a little, but is in line with rival brand Totes, who also often print the Totes brand name on the soles of their socks.
The colour of my Hello Kitty slipper socks is a bright and very vivid Barbie, or should I say Kitty style pink. The soft almost furry texture of the slipper socks is really nice when next to the skin and provides plenty of warmth too. I have found that the socks are easy to put on and take off and have had no problems with the fit, even though these are sold as a childrens or older girls product.
Sizes for the socks range from size 8 1/2 to 12, then from 12 1/2 to 3 1/2 and then finally size 4 to 7. I feel the sizes are good, as I managed to fit my feet into the larger size of these slipper socks with ease. In terms of price the smallest size sells for £4 and the 2 larger sizes retail for £5 per pair. I feel this is not too bad at all when compared to the Totes branded slipper socks which are of a similar quality.
The applique Hello Kitty face on the slipper socks is what makes them look ultra cute. Its neat and cute, with a nice soft lightly furry texture and is easily identifiable as Kitty. Kitty has her signature pink bow in one ear and her teeny little black eyes are set off nicely by her cute yellow nose. Kittys whiskers are in a simple black thread effect and I think she looks as she should.
When washing these slipper socks I have tried washing them by hand, but have found that they can be safely machine washed if turned inside out prior to going into the machine. Washing them in the machine means they come out with less water in them after a good spin and can be dried off more quickly. When I have washed and dried them this way they have remained fluffy and soft each time, which I have been pleased about.
As I really like my Hello Kitty slipper socks I can only give them a 5 star rating. They are nice and snug and their 99% polyester and 1% elastane content makes them easy to wear and care for. They are a bit cheaper then their Totes rivals and so that has to be a plus point too. I would recommend them as a stocking filler gift for xmas as they are both cute and handy at the same time.
