While thermals may remind you of your grandmother and certainly not the sort of thing that a hot young thing may like to be seen in, I have to say that once the temperature reaches -2 or -3 outside, I really don't care how unsexy my underwear is as long as I'm warm and toasty. Maybe this type of attitude comes with wisdom and age, I don't know, but I do know that a warm me is a happier me - and so if a thermal vest is needed then a thermal vest is going to be worn!!

I have a couple of the Intimate Essentials Thermal Vests which I pull out for use in the winter and unashamedly strut around in. I have a black and a cream one - which came in a two packet combination and cost me £21.99 from Amazon - which included postage and packaging. They are like typical vests which have straps and is long enough to cover my hips and so my whole body is covered nicely. It feels really nice against my skin because although it keeps me nice and warm, it is not bulky and is actually really lightweight and feels soft and silky against my skin.

I like the fact that when I wear these vests, I am kept warm but not sweaty - thanks I think to the breathable material that the vests are made out of. In addition to this, they wash really well and do not become bobbly over time as I have found with similar products - although they were probably slightly more expensive. The colours have also stayed sharp and haven't faded at all.

Overall, I think these are good products that we should all be donning in this current weather. Who cares what you look like under your clothes - and if you do happen to meet Brad Pitt on a night out then you can always go and whip it off!!!

A great, body warming, soft vest

When I was a kid I remember my mother buying me thermal vests every new term for school. When I was old enough to decide life for myself, out were the thermal vests and in were the sexy bras etc lol.

However life sometimes does full circle on us. I remember the warm feeling vests gave me at school and now at 37 I'm willing to admit...mums usually know best!

My mum has always advocated thermals and thats one thing that I have always adhered to. I see the point in them anyway! I have always felt the cold more than most, sometimes I feel cold on a warm to other people, summers day and my feet are usually purple as I have bad circulation.

For this reason I own rather alot of thermals. I live alone, so have no one to impress and I appreciate being comfortable! Of course the great thing about thermals is that you can wear them on their own, under clothing and day or of a night!

These thermal vests I bought along with a load of other thermal items from my K&co catalogue not so long ago to replace a load of thermals I had owned a bit too long to be honest.

These are available in sizes 10-22 (all for the same price) and in packs of two and the colour options are black and cream or grey marl and cream and no matter the colour option they cost £23.00.

These are really great vests and before these vests they were something I hadn't actually worn in years. They are made from 50% polyester and 50% viscose and are fully machine washable, tumble dry safe and suitable for ironing should you wish to iron them.

I am usually a size 10 so I ordered them in a size 10 and with these I think they come a little bigger than usual sizing, which isn't actually a bad thing. They are of course a vest style, with wide straps that are soft and its a long length vest. It has a not very deep scoop neck top to the front of it and it is trimmed around the arm holes and the neckline with a soft cotton feel trim, nicely finished this really is.

It also has a fleurs de leighs pattern all over it which is made from little holes to allow the skin to breath and all in all this is a very nice, if not somewhat unsexy vest (lol) which is lightweight, warming and very comfortable to wear indeed. I like the wide straps this has to it to cover up bra straps (if you want to wear it that way) and the nice long length it has to it meaning it keeps my back warm. Its also seamfree so it doesn't dig into my skin at all and all in all I really do like these and give them a thumbs up. Ok they may not be the most sexy item you could ever wear but practical they are big time!
