A fab hoodie for those who want something a little different

I came across this on Zavvi and it looked quite cool, but more than anything I was taken by the apparent discount of 78% (I'm a sucker for a bargain!). Liking my warm clothes, this looked comfy yet quirky, and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived because it's lovely to wear!

Iron Fist is a brand that I first came across only a couple of months ago when I bought an Iron Fist rucksack from Amazon (another bargain!). I was pleased with the quality and design so I trusted that their clothes line should also be high quality.

This brand is quite underground and has a rock kind of style to it; it comes across as being original, modern and artistic, and despite only being around since 2001, it seems to have quite a secure and strong brand image.

Zavvi has a range of Iron Fist clothing, which is available elsewhere online, but the Faithful Sinner hoodie caught my eye for it's more understated appeal in comparison to the other designs. The hoodie itself is primarily black, with a cartoon image of a women to the right hand side (when you're wearing it) holding a knife. It looks quite grungy and dark, but this is nicely contrasted by red detailing on the image, cuffs, bottom elastic and hood. The top is a zip-up, with a logo zipper, and the bottom band of the jumper keeps it tight enough around you to keep you warm in cooler weather. The hood has a funky polka dot design and it's large enough to put over a jacket if you want to wear one on top, or to put it up if it's raining. I thought that was important anyway, because I've noticed some hoods can be too small.

The material itself is relatively thick, soft and warm. It's so comfy to wear and it has a casual feel to it whilst still being quite neat. I bought mine in a size small as I'm usually a size 8 top. This was also available in XS, M, L and XL. The size seemed just about right; it's a tad longer than what I'm used to but then again I'm only 5'3", but it's not too long by any means.

I took a look at other websites and confirmed that the RRP of Iron Fist women's hoodies are around £65. I personally would never consider spending that much on a hoodie, regardless of the label or quality. Having said that, it definitely has a high quality feel to it and if you like brand images, then this also has the Iron Fist logo/writing on one arm. It's quite understated but I like the little things that make this unique and quirky, like the zipper and the dotty hood. The other detail that I love are the thumb holes; these are well done so as not to rip and have a cool red heart design around them. Again, it's just a little detail that sets this hoodie apart from the rest, and it also keeps you that little bit warmer!

The only downside I've found so far, even though I've not had it too long, is that a metal part that attaches to the drawstring around the hood, which is red and black in colour, has come away from the fabric. This is only minor, but it's something I would have been very disappointed about if I had paid the RRP.

Overall, I love this hoodie and would definitely recommend it, though mostly at the bargain price of £12.99 on Zavvi.
