      Dress

      Jane Norman snaffle trim dress

I have quite a collection of dresses and buy them frequently. I was recently invited to a wedding and knew that I wanted a dress to match rather nice bag and shoes, so this is what I started to look around for. The dress also had to be fairly conservative and suitable for whatever the weather might fling at me. When I came across this dress on the online site, I ordered it and given the price was rather pleasantly surprised.
The dress is available in black and also navy and although I was tempted by the black (my usual colour) I stuck to my original choice and ordered the navy. It is a rather nice navy; not drab and dark as I expected but slightly brighter but still navy. I am about 5'5" and this comes just below my knees which was the length I wanted. It is made of 81% polyester, 41% viscose and 5% elastane and so fits snuggly without inhibiting my walking although it does look slightly tighter below the knees. I like this fit as it doesn't flare out and although it looks tight I can still walk without scuttling; this is helped by the very small split up the back.

The dress has a v neckline, slightly squared at the bottom, cap sleeves and two sets of gold coloured snaffle detailing at the waist, which adds a bit of glamour to a dress which otherwise could be a bit plain. There is also plenty of seam detailing around the sides and on the back to make it less plain.
The RRP of the dress is £50 but I bought it in the sale for £35 which I think is excellent value for a dress to wear at a wedding.

It is available in sizes 6 to 16. I tried the 8 and the 10 and either size would be a good fit because of the stretch although the size 10 seemed slightly longer.
Another plus for the dress is the fact that it is machine washable which is great because sometimes I buy a dress and then spend a fortune on dry cleaning. Although this has now been washed and worn a few times it still looks as good as new.

      VERDICT...

The dress has been a really good buy. It is really comfortable to wear even for a full day including standing, sitting to eat a meal and then it felt fine even in the evening when new people came dressed in their "glad rags". I wore white and navy shoes which matched perfectly but I have since worn the dress with plain black shoes and this looked equally as good but seemed to dress it down a bit. It was very reasonably priced made more so by the fact that I can wash it at home.

I would recommend this dress to anyone wanting something comfortable to wear day or night or day to night. My only regret is that I didn't buy it in the black as well.
      Thanks for reading

      Daniela xx
