Silver lurex batwing jumper

On the Jane Norman website, www.janenorman.co.uk, this jumper was originally priced at £32.00, reduced to £16.00 and I bought it at £15.00 With standard delivery costing £3.95, and goods being delivered within 3-5 working days it's a good option to buy some bargains although to make the most of the postage costs I tend to buy a few things at the same time.

This is a silver lurex batwing jumper.; I kind of imagined that the fact that it was described as lurex would make it a bit cheap and nasty looking and a bit itchy, but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It is a silver grey colour with silver shimmer thread detail, which makes it ideal to wear with jeans if I go out for an afternoon meal and want to look a bit dressy but not over the top. As mentioned the sleeves are batwing style and are ¾ length which for me means that I would wear it only when the weather is warmish and certainly not in the depths of winter. It has a wide scoop neckline, allowing me to wear a scarf with the jumper without looking too bundled up, and thick ribbing on the neckline, cuffs & hem..

The jumper is machine washable, and can just be hung after washing without needing ironing and is 90% acrylic 2% metallised fibre and 8% nylon.

Available in sizes 6-16. Mine is a 10 and is true to size.

**My opinion**

So far, so good. The jumper can be put in the washing machine without suffering damage, but the damage was already done. After wearing it only once for a fairly sedate late afternoon/early evening meal and a few drinks, I returned home to find that the ribbing at the bottom of the jumper was all coming away. Whilst I accept that if I was fairly handy with a needle and thread I could sew all of the loose stitches together, I feel this is not the issue. I didn't snag the jumper on anything and nor did it get damaged after washing.

The style is just what I was after and although I was originally pleased with the jumper, I feel I cant recommend it.

A very poor offering from a store which usually produces jumpers which last me a long time.

Thanks for reading
