Advantages: Great cut, Good choice of styles and lengths. What more could you want?
Disadvantages: A little expensive.
As this is a review forum for Jeans in general, I wanted to write about how great Topshop jeans are if you are a bit of an 'athletic figured' girl like me.
This Autumn, Topshop as a range of different cuts of jeans in 3 lengths, 30", 32" & 34" leg. Their sizes range from a 26" waist to a 34". They also do a range of tall jeans which have a 36" inside leg and come in about 4 different sizes. The styles of jeans they have in at the moment are Skinny, Straight Leg, Skinny Flare, and Boyfriend.
The jeans are fairly expensive, costing between 35 and 40 pounds, but they are well worth it. I have 2 pairs of jeans that are over 3 years old now and are still going strong. Weirdly, the older jeans I have don't even seem to date, and still look fashionable today.
I know that Topshop can, at times, get a bad press for cutting it's clothes for the Kate Moss type figure, but for me, Topshop is always gonna be my first choice for Jeans. I have very few curves, but I'm not skinny (Tall & athletic is a fair description I guess even if it does make me sound a bit manly) and find that other shop's jeans are too big on my hips and bum if they fit my waist and thighs. Topshop, however, always seem to cut their jeans quite straight, so they fit me everywhere. They also still cut their jeans quite low rise, which is more flattering if you have big hips, or no waist.
This Autumn I bought the Skinny Flared jeans. They are seriously flattering as they balance out your thighs at the bottom but stick close to your bum. They can be dressed up to look smart, for clubbing or nights out, or dressed down with a t-shirt and trainers. They are super versatile and I imagine they'd suit all body shapes.
I can't recommend Topshop highly enough. if you're looking for jeans, take a few pairs into the fitting room and parade in front of the mirror. But remember your credit card!
Summary: Really good to get an idea of what styles suit you.

koshkha - 28/09/06 I think this would have been better if you'd put in a suggestion for 'Top Shop Jeans' rather than doing it under the general jeans category. |
