“ Brand: BooHoo / Type: Playsuit / Clothing Class: Casual Wear „
I have gotten into the habit of writing fashion reviews recently, and I am finding them the easiest to get my teeth stuck into (alongside my beloved Lush product reviews). After visiting an online fashion blog not long ago, I noticed she wore a lot of gorgeous outfits all by BooHoo - I am sure she now does some sort of promotion for them as she seems to have it plastered everywhere! Anyway, I had a browse of the site and this was one of many outfits that I decided to buy. I normally hate buying online as I can't be bothered with the hassle of returning goods if they don't fit, but this was an exception as they do not have an actual store. Part of the reason I brought this playsuit was because we share the same name - which is incredibly sad I know. I have found playsuits never really look right on me because of my figure, but this one was more of a top/shirts so I gave it a try. The 'Jessica Pearl Beaded Neckline Playsuit' is quite modern/retro if you ask me. The dotty 'shorts' and the sheer 'blouse' are sewn together in the middle so you don't have to keep tucking yourself back in and adjusting. The playsuit costs £20 and the postage is around £3, but if you spend over a certain amount (usually £50) then you get free delivery. You can buy the item in sizes 8-16 and it is machine washable on a low setting, avoiding the tumble dryer due to the pearl detailing. The top is described as being light pink, but I think its white personally and it is quite a sheer blouse which is popular in the fashion world at present. As its a chiffon material it can be quite see through so avoid a coloured bra, or if you want to cover up then wear another top underneath or your bra will be seen. The 'shorts' are black with white spots on them. The material looks quite thick on the image but it is quite thin. Although, it is thick enough to not be see through and keep you semi warm on a night out. On me, they do cover my bum (unlike some playsuits) and if I wear them without tights or leggings, I am comfortable that I am completely hidden. The shorts aren't tight fitting but they aren't baggy enough to show anything unwanted. The fact it is black and white means you can add coloured accessories and it goes with pretty much anything you could think of (within reason). I like wearing it casual and for a night out, obviously footwear determines which I have chosen it to be. When I first got the playsuit out of the wrapping, I was a bit hesitant that it would suit me, but it really does and I am happy with the result. It makes me feel like I have a figure as it tucks me in at the waist but is looser all over. The quality of the product is amazing too, it might be thinner material than what I am used to wearing - but it keeps condition well. I am yet to get bobbled or out of shape! I don't think anyone's wardrobe should be without one of these playsuits - definitely everyone needs some boohoo!
I said to expect quite a few fashion reviews over the next couple of days and even though they will be quite varied most of them will be Boohoo related because it has quickly become one of my favourite sites to buy from. All the clothes are gorgeous but every now and them one of their 'statement' pieces really catches my eye and I know straight away I just HAVE to own it which is just what happened when I saw this 'BooHoo Jessica Pearl Beaded Neckline Playsuit'. Playsuits arent really my thing as I dont think they really flatter my figure and sometimes they simply dont look dressy enough for me but as soon as I saw this one I knew I would love to wear it and I had a feeling it would suit me. Its a nice mix of modern and retro which is perfect for me and exactly my style. I LOVE this playsuit! Useful Information: Price: £20 Stockists: Exclusive to boohoo.com - Their clothes ARE NOT available in stores! Sizing: This playsuit is available in sizes 10, 12, 14 & 16 online. Other Info: Machine washable -although I would recommend washing it alone on quite a low setting because of the pearl detailing. The length of this playsuit is 76cm which on me means it is quite short but covers everything perfectly - but obviously that will depend on your personal weight & height. I know the image with this review isnt brilliant but if you look on the Boohoo website and decide to buy it what you see is what you really get in real life so you wont be disappointed. I know the main top part of this playsuit is described as pink but it is very pale so in my opinion it should really be classed as white and because it is made from very light, chiffon type material that does mean it is slightly transparent. I dont find that a problem as I wear a jacket with this most of the time and a plain bra underneath but if you planning on wearing a bright coloured bra or even leaving the bra at home for the day dont wear this playsuit as it will only draw more attention to your boobs LOL. At the top of this playsuit is a small collar which is sort of stuck to the material and that collar is studded all over with little pearl detailing which continues around the back but not all the way around. There are also some buttons on the front but they are purely there for design as they dont open at all. So onto the bottom half which is black and white polka dot shorts which again are made from quite thin material - but dont worry they arent see through at all! The middle part between the chiffon and the shorts is slightly elasticated so it is very comfy to wear and most people have actually said to me this looks like an outfit Ive put together myself rather than a 2 in 1 because the 2 styles are quite different yet they seem to match. The shorts part is quite baggy which means you have wiggle room but they arent so baggy that it makes you bum or legs appear bigger. The shorts are quite high up on me but they cover my bum totally so I know even if I was to wear this wihout tights nothing would be out for all to see. This is the perfect fit for me as it is slightly bigger than some playsuits yet it really suits my figure - and Im not been big headed there - as it clings where I would like it to and is slightly baggier on the bits Id prefer not to draw attention to. Another amazing thing is that this matches with everything and can be worn at any time and to any occasion. This is casual enough to wear in the day with black tights and flats but it can be dressed up for the night with natural tights and shoes boots/heels and to be honest it looks just as brilliant both ways in my opinion. I personally couldnt wear this with bare legs - thats just my opinion but I dont see why that look wouldnt work as well as the ones Ive mentioned. Its a perfect outfit for any time or occasion which is strange from one piece of clothing. Its very rare that I say that about anything. And Im always getting compliments on this when I go out as the style is half retro and half modern but somehow the overall design really works. It also seems fantastic quality to me. Ive owned this for a few months now and Ive got loads of use out of it and as far as I can tell there are no obvious signs of wear and none of the pearls have fell off as yet so I think this piece will last me for a good while to come - thats why I love Boohoo so much! 100% recommended as its a gorgeous design that I think would appeal to most people and flatter most figures so its a great piece for anyones wardrobe in my opinion.
