Advantages: THEY STAY PUT
Disadvantages: A BIT COLD AT FIRST
When I first saw these I wasn't too sure whether I could see myself wearing something that stuck to me. How did they work? How come they don't fall off? I expected they would; surely it was just a gimmick.
I first saw them at Wilkinsons but they were £19.99 and seemed a bit pricey for something I wasn't sure of, so I gave it a miss and never really gave them a thought after that.
Then, one day, as I was in Ethel Austin (what? Again, I hear you cry.... Yes again!) I saw them for just £5 and decided it had to be worth a try for that price. They are available in A, B, or C cup, so having chose the one for me I trotted off to the counter delighted with my bargain.
Later that night I though I'd give them a try, so I opened the box to find two chicken fillets with a clip attaching both pieces. Hmm, ok then! Right, what do I do with them? One is left and one is right; sort of an elliptical shape and made of like a silicone material, but one edge is a bit rounder - this is the edge that goes on the bottom. The outside is convex and the inside is concave. The inside is sticky, almost like the sticky on a plaster. What you do then is flip them outwards so the inside is convex and place over the nipple pointing slightly down towards the breast bone, then flip them back to their original shape. The difficult part for me was getting both pieces on at the same angle, but once you get them in place you then just join the two clips together and hey presto! No bra AND a cleavage, wow! They also give you a slightly fuller shape... bonus!
Now, the main reason I got them was because I have a number of gorgeous strapless tops and not a one decent strapless bra. I don't know if it's just me but I just seem to spend all night pulling the strapless bras back up and it's very annoying!
So, anyway, having got them in the right place and having clipped them together I started to gyrate my arms, jump up and down and generally twist around a lot to see if they were likely to fall off while I was out dancing, which, let's face it would be slightly embarrassing! Well, unbelievably, they didn't budge an inch.
One thing I will say, though, is they felt really weird, and cold, but after a while my body heat warmed them up and I totally forgot I had them on - which is good in a way, but I felt quite vulnerable, as I can't remember the last time I went out without a bra on.
Quite surprisingly when you wash them, the sticky still stays sticky. I've no idea how that works but it's very clever.
The first time I worn them to go out in, I was wearing the most beautiful strapless dress and they gave me a very natural shape. At first I kept checking to see that they weren't going to fall off. But after a few drinks and a few/quite a few vodka shots I'd completely forgot/didn't care and had a great night.
I have since worn them many times and feel totally confident with them and believe they're a bargain for just £5.
So, all in all, I would say that despite my initial scepticism they've proved to be the best strapless bra I've ever had!
Summary: BETTER THAN A STRAPLESS BRA
