It's very rare that I ever see something in Joe Browns that I'd actually wear, however when they sent me a ten pound voucher some time ago I ended up buying a pair of their 'true' leggings, which retail at a reasonable (but very slightly more expensive than average) £9.95.
These come in two colours - navy and brown, but oddly there's no option of black. I ended up getting the navy, and am pleased with the colour. They're a very dark navy so look almost black. The leggings are made from cotton and elastane and feel considerably thicker than my other, cheaper leggings and the material is soft and smooth.
The leggings are very good quality and extremely comfortable, they're lightweight and as they are stretchy (as all leggings are) I don't feel restricted in them as they adjust to the shape of my legs and waist. The waistband is obviously elasticated, but holds my jelly belly in a little and doesn't cause it to hang over the waist band!
The leggings are full length. Im only 5 foot 2 and find them too long, so i have to pull them up which means they crease a bit around my ankles, but because they are a dark colour it isnt that noticeable. The sizes available are S-M, M-L and L-XL. I am a size 12 and the M-L are a perfect fit and don't feel at all tight or too clingy, they're really comfy!
I have had this pair of leggings for about 6 months now, possibly a bit longer and they are still in quite good condition, though not as solid in colour and there is some very minor bobbling on the inside of the legs and around the front of the waist, but like I said because of the dark colour minor imperfections like this aren't that noticeable and do not make the leggings look scruffy.
I'd recommend these leggings.
I own lots and lots of pairs of leggings. I find them versatile and forgiving and with my weight going up and down alot I find that they tend to fit me better than jeans which more often than not cut my blood supply off if I'm not lucky!
These I bought from Freemans.com and cost me £18.00 for one pair of them. I own quite a few Joe Brown things and am always happy with the quality of the clothing which is what attracted me to them.
Made from 95% Cotton and 5% Elastane these come in two colour options which is a rich chocolate brown and in Navy and are available in sizes S/M, M/L and L/XL so its guess work to getting your size right really. I think that S/M are 8/10, M/L is about a size 12/14 and L/XL 16/18, but these are just my estimations!
They have a length of 28.5 cm which is a good enough length for me and they are fully machine washable, tumble dry safe and suitable for ironing, are smooth and lightweight though not see through and the seams on them not too thick and/or bulky.
I really like these leggings and find them very flattering on my frame. They're skin tight on me but have a lightly elasticated waistband to them so rather a bit of a give and being able to wash and dry them with complete ease is a bonus, I never have to tumble dry mine as they air dry so fast or iron them as the creases drop out when I'm wearing them!
£18.00 is pricey for a pair of plain leggings I grant you but they are made to last these ones!
