      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Great johds for little people who have a specific colour in mind!

      Make mine pink

About a year ago, Little Miss took up horse riding and having bought the hat, it became imperative that we bought the jodhpurs; so began the search

      **OUR QUEST**

We had to take a few things into consideration when buying jodhpurs.
From my point of view, they had to be serviceable, hard wearing, warm and comfortable.
As far as little miss was concerned, as long as they were pink, she was happy.
Most of the jodhpurs we found looked uncomfortable around the waist- we expect a tummy at the age of not quite five, so the issue was the waistband. If the waistband was adjustable or elasticated then the material was scratchy.

After a dedicated search, we found these in a shop selling (obviously enough) horse riding equipment and clothes.

      **THE JODPHURS**

Of course we bought the pink ones, called Winter Rose.
They are soft needlecord material in a sort of dusky pink.
What I like about them is the detail. The inside leg panel and back belt loop are the same material but light pink with a dark pink flower detail. Look at the inside pockets and they are the same pattern.
      Very very girlie.
The jodhpurs have elasticated foot stirrups and a zip and button fastening.
The waistband is adjustable, and can be made tighter by altering the button on the inside of the waistband.
The material is 94% cotton and 6% elastane so they have that stretch for getting on and off a pony.
Just in case you forget who made the jodhpurs, the name and logo are on the button and also on a very discreet tag just under the waistband.

      **PRICE**

      We bought these for £17.95.
Strangely enough, they are £19.00 on the website, but they do have sales and at the moment they cost £10.00

      **OTHER COLOURS AND SIZES**

The jodhpurs come in Date, Moss and Nightshadow as well as Winter Rose.
Other sizes available are xs, s, m, l, xl which I would imagine equates to age 3-4 for the xs up to age 7-8 for the xl; based on the small we have which is age 4-5.

      **WEBSITE**

      www.joulesclothing.com

Because I had bought these from a shop, I was unaware of the other women and children clothing sold by Joules. The website has information on all the clothing available which can be bought online, with free p and p.
It's worth checking out if you are looking for outdoor clothing which is a bit different.

      **VERDICT**

We bought the age 4-5 (a size small on the label) and since little lady is almost 5 and about average size, the sizing is very true to size.

The jodhpurs have been worn consistently every week for about 4 months and show no signs of wear; in fact, they could still pass for brand new.
Another advantage to point out, is that they wash beautifully and require minimal ironong- always a bonus.
There have been no complaints regarding the comfort of the jodhpurs, and if she has a problem with comfort, she does complain with startling rapidity. The waistband must be comfortable because she is not constantly tugging at it.
The colour has obviously been a hit and although I thought they would look dirty quickly, they never appear grubby.
I thought the price was reasonable for the quality of the jodhpurs, which are well made, and even more so if I can get them in the sale.

So, all in all, a good buy. I have achieved my objectives and little lady has pink jodhpurs…obviously the days of cream, black or navy jodhpurs are long gone.

All I have to do now is try the website to see if they have the next size up in the same colour although I might be daring and try the Date.

      Thanks for reading.
