As most people will be aware, elbow patches are hugely on trend at the minute which is why I just had to have this jumper! I came across it on the ASOS website and as soon as I saw the price I bought it - this jumper is only £22 which for a very in season, fashionable piece of clothing is a total bargain in my opinion!
This is basically a simple black jumper, meaning it's very versatile and simplistic however it has a little bit of a twist to it because of the elbow pad detailing which make it look much more trendy and expensive, while giving it a bit of uniqueness. I like that the elbow pads aren't a run of the mill colour; most elbow pads around at the moment are a chocolate brown colour, where as these are a nice creamy shade which looks almost like pale flesh, I really like the colour and it goes with the black well, while still standing out and been very 'edgy'.
I bought this jumper to wear with jeans for a casual outfit while i'm as big as a house (8 months pregnant!), however it's definetly a jumper I will be matching with disco pants, shorts, skirts or printed leggings for an oversized jumper look once i'm back to my usual size 8 clothes. The jumper would look amazing tucked into a nice pair of diesel cut offs, or perhaps a pair of checked shorts; this is a very versatile item of clothing which can either be dressed down with jeans or leggings for a slouchy oversized look or paired with a nice pair of shorts for a unique mix 'n' match style indie outfit which will definetly stand out from the crowd!
The jumper as I said is quite basic, the design is simply a long sleeved jumper with a scooped neck, complete with ribbed detailing to the waistband and sleeve cuffs. It's not as long as I expected, it's just below my waistline but obviously this is mainly because i'm pregnant, and the length will also depend on your height. Even on the shortest of girls though this won't be very long, it doesn't cover my bum up at all so if you want a jumper which will hide your legs then this isn't ideal! It could be pulled off with a nice pair of well-fitting, patterned leggings but definetly not with black leggings.
This jumper is quite good quality and has a lovely smooth texture to it. It's not very thick however is a nice layer under a chunkier jumper to keep you warm. I would only wear this on its own in spring or summer as it has practically no warmth or thickness to it, which will be a disadvantage to alot of people. The jumper also bobbles easily, it's 100% acrylic and it also picks up hair/dust easily so requires either a regular wash or a regular de-fluffing.
The sizes available are as follows - 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20. Obviously with having my bump I opted for the largest size - 20. This isn't as big as I imagined it would be, although it's plenty big enough for me to wear comfortably and the material has a nice (slight) stretch to it. I would reccomend getting a size bigger than your usual size, unless you want it well fitting. It can be machine washed.
Overall this is an affordable and stylish jumper, but it has a few disadvantages:
- Thin material
- Not very long
- Sizing a bit 'off'
- Picks up hair easily
- Bobbles easily
I would reccomend it though if you are after an affordable elbow patch jumper.
