Karma Clothing Blue Eyes Owl Jumper
Advantages: Cute, warm, cheap, very wearable
Disadvantages: Only 2 sizes available
For some reason, owl motifs seem to be all the rage at the moment when it comes to both clothes and homewares. I'm not sure why, but I'm not complaining because I find them really cute. I was looking for a winter jumper with an owl on it but anything I saw was either too expensive or I didn't like the design.
I found this jumper on the clothing website www.karmaclothing.co.uk.
SIZES AND COLOURS AVAILABLE
This comes in 2 colours - beige and black. The beige version has the owl on it in black, whereas the black version has the owl on it in white.
I bought the black version as I tend to wear darker colours. On both styles the owl's beak and eyes are coloured blue. A nice added touch is that each eye has a silver metal stud for a pupil. I like studs on clothes and I think this makes the motif a little different from what you may find on other owl jumpers.
The jumper comes in 2 sizes SM (8-10) and ML (12-14). Therefore there isn't a huge range of sizes available, and you may find this does not fit as well as you would like. I bought the ML as I am a size 12 and it fits me perfectly. It is not an especially loose-fitting jumper and I am not entirely sure that size ML would fit everyone who is a size 14. I am a small size 12 and I think this could be a bit on the tight side if I was any bigger.
The label only states that this is made from 'mixed fibres'. The website also does not give any information on what material this is made from, unfortunately.
This can be washed at 40 degrees. It has washed well for me, and provided you re-shape it before drying so it maintains its shape, it should be absolutely fine. The metal studs have also remained intact.
I find this very wearable. It's perfect for lounging around the house with some trackie bottoms, with skinny jeans, a mini or mid-length skirt, or regular old bootcut jeans. I don't think this is loose or long enough to team with, for example leggings, but that's my own personal opinion and each to their own. I've mainly been wearing this with a blue denim skirt as I think it looks good with the blue on the jumper, and some black tights and winter boots.
I think the jumper is quite Christmassy and I will be wearing this on winter walks or when I go to the local Christmas market in December.
This costs £13.99 which I think is fantastic for a jumper. It doesn't look cheap. Karma Clothing charge £2.95 for delivery, but even with delivery costs, I believe this to be a bargain considering you could pay around £30 for a jumper in some high street stores.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS?
I would definitely recommend this jumper. It is perfect for the autumn and winter months, and I know I will be wearing this over the festive season quite a lot. Also, because it comes from a website which I wouldn't regard as being well known, the chances of seeing someone else wearing this is slim too! However as I have said, the sizes available is poor so I'd only recommend it if you're confident you will fit into it.
I would like to give this 4 stars but because of the limited sizes available, I will have to give it 3.
