It's that time of the year where stores stock up on their summer close, and, with that comes the clear out of any large warm clothes. Why they bother I do not know, because we never get more than 1 week of sun! Take a quick look around the internet and you'll find nearly every clothes store has a massive summer sale on.

In need of some new clothes I've rifled through the online sales of jeans, tee's and hoodies, ordering one or two items from different stores. I was delighted however, to come across this hoodie on play.com. Now for those of you that don't know, play.com are an online only outlet who sell dvd's, cd's, games, gifts and clothes. Although to most people, it is not the first place you'd go looking to re-stock your wardrobe. They tend to sell band's/television clothes more than anything else.

I was on the lookout for a new hoodie so I thought that as this was reduced to £9.99 it'd definitely be worth the buy, and if it didn't turn out to be great then I wasn't losing much. Looking at the reviews of the item on play.com a few people had said it was much thinner and more fitted than they had expected, and there were recommendations that the sizing guide was wrong, and you should take a size up.

I am a size 12, which play.com would say is a medium in this hoodie. I decided to give play.com the benefit of the doubt seeing as I've not known them to get anything wrong when dealing with them before. I am glad I did so because the medium is exactly the fit I was looking for. The hoodie is loose but not too baggy and comes right down over my hips. It fits pefectly to sit just below my hips but I can pull it down further to cover my bum comfortably!

When I opened the package up I was intrigued as to the quality of the top as the reviews had been contradictory on the site. I have to say that I could not have hoped for a better quality hoodie. Yes, it is not a big thick fleeced hoodie, but it is a warm, 100% cotton, comfortable hoodie. It's great to wear over a t-shirt to keep you warm in the cold British weather, but I've also found that you can wear it on it's own when it's 'inbetween' weather.

The design of the hoodie is fantastic, with the iron on detail one of the best I've seen. It's nice and bright, and guaranteed to make people smile. The blue colour of the hoodie is a nice shade.

The hood is the same quality as the rest of the hoodie and will keep you nice and warm. Although, as with most new hooded items, when you first use it the hood looks a bit pointed! I think this tends to happend because the hood has been folded when packaged, and it'll be okay after a few uses.
