A fashionable maternity top from H&M

I am at the stage in my pregnancy where it is quite obvious when I wear a well-fitting top that i'm pregnant, as my stomach doesn't quite match the rest of my body! I love showing my bump off (even though it's tiny!) and so was looking for a top that would fit nicely and wouldn't be too tight around my stomach and hip area/wouldn't be stretched, especially as my bump grows larger. I wasn't keen on the idea of buying maternity clothes (this is my first maternity purchase!) purely because I already own alot of oversized and baggy tops, however I do think that these kind of tops hide my bump and can potentially make me look fat, rather than it being clear that i'm pregnant. With this top however, it has a nice fit and looks very stylish, as well as being incredibly comfy around my stomach area.

This is really stylish and it's versatile too. It is a 3/4 length jersey top with horizontal stripes. The top is has pocket detailing and a scooped neck. I love the pocket detailing as it's in season and adds a bit of edge to the top rather than it being quite plain. The top fits me quite well but it's quite long at the front as my bump isn't huge at the minute. This doesn't bother me though as it doesn't look silly, and I know that there's plenty of room in it to adjust to my bump at the later stage of my pregnancy, and puts my mind at rest that my bump will be completely covered even when I am 9 months pregnant! It's my worst nightmare that my tops will all become stretched and manky, so now I have this and I know that maternity clothes aren't hideously ugly or strangely fitting I will be buying more.

The material of this is 100% vicose, meaning it has plenty of stretch. It is very lightweight and although not very thick it keeps me reasonably warm. The material doesn't go see through where it's slightly stretched around my stomach area either which I think is good as alot of tops have a tendancy to do this. As it is wide fit it's easy to just sling on and match with a pair of jeans or leggings. I personally like wearing this with leggings for the ultimate comfy and cosy outfit, however i've worn it with jeans and it looked good. I can't currently do my jeans up and i've been against the idea of getting maternity jeans as all the ones i've tried are much too stretchy, and this top covers the buttons/zips of my jeans so no one can tell, lol.

There are various colours available such as:
      Grey and black stripes
      Purple and black stripes
      Brown and blue stripes

I own the one which is brown and blue as I think the other colours are quite ugly and an odd match, but everyone has different tastes! The sizes available are 10-12, 14-16, 18-20 and 22-24. I am only a size 8 but I opted for the 10-12 as I am aware that my figure won't stay a size 8 when i'm 9 months pregnant! It looks nice quite oversized but to be honest I don't think that H&M are very generous with their clothes so perhaps if you are larger it would be a good idea to get a size bigger.

Overall this is a comfy and stylish top. It puts my mind at rest that I look pregnant and not fat, and it's comfortable - especially around my back and hip area as all of my other 'normal' tops are becoming tight around the back. I would really reccomend this and I think at just £12.99 for a good quality and long lasting item, it is good value. It is machine washable and it's survived being ironed more than once.
