“ Brand: Marks & Spencer / Type: Casual Wear „
In Gibraltar which is 20minutes away from where I live or 7 hours depending on the queue at the frontier,(Yes it is true, 7 hours delay due to the Spanish frontier fiasco), we have a M and S shop much to the delight of all the expats including me. They are a franchise so sometimes we get slightly different things than in the UK but their winter and summer sales are phenomenal and the first days are fairly scrum like and riotous. My strategy is to wait for the end of sale, sale if you see what I mean and it was in this bargain hunters delight that I bought this lovely pair of jeans for 5pounds! What is more they are a perfect fit!
I have been wearing them now for two winters and they are still as comfortable and smart looking as when I bought them. They are made of 98% cotton and 2% elastane so give an excellent fit whilst still being able to move about. I am a size 6 and can say that these fit me very well. They sit on my waist and do not gap or pinch.
On the rear are two pockets and on the front are two traditional side pockets with a small inside pocket for change and studs at the edge of each pocket. The normal pocket is big enough to hold my mobile phone without it falling out. The material is soft yet strong and thick enough for all but the coldest days that we have down here. They have been washed frequently in a cold wash as well as at 30C as advised on the label. I wash them inside out when I remember and in a wash with other dark coloured clothes just in case of any colour transfer.
What else can I say, they just seem to keep getting better as is the nature of a good pair of jeans. The seams are double stitched and sturdy and the colour has just a nice fade on the front of the leg.
I am always comfortable when I am wearing them and if I see another pair I would snap them up without any hesitation. I hope they last for years.
5 out of 5 stars from me.
Thanks for reading my review and please Mr Cameron sort out the border problem!

On the M & S website these jeans have an overall rating from 287 reviews of 4.2 out of 5 - so a great endorsement.
Being ill at home I have not been able to get out and about to buy clothes and lots of the jeans in the mail order catalogues are quite expensive, often being over £30. All I really wanted was a plain pair of jeans to wear around the house and when just popping out so I did not want to spend too much.
Last year I ordered two pairs from the M & S website to try them for size - I ordered size 14 and 16 in medium length.
I find buying jeans awkward as I tend to come in between sizes 14 and 16, but in the end I bought size 16 but had to put tucks in the waist a little. Returns are free as they send you a label with the order, so there was no problem returning the other pair.
I have worn and washed these jeans now since last May and they are wearing really well. The length needed about an inch taken up for me but I would rather do that than order a short size which might have been a little too short.
The colour I ordered was called Indigo which is a sort of mid blue and is not a faded look at all.
They have yellow stitching and also stitching detail on the back pockets.
These jeans always wash up well and to me do not look like 'cheap' jeans and I will wear them out to a meeting or if visitors come and am quite happy with them. The jeans fit well and have a slight stretch. the waist comes to your waist which means they do not slip down like some hipster styles.
I have just ordered two more pairs today so that I will have a new pair to use through the summer, though there is nothing wrong with the ones I have apart from being slightly loose now as I have lost a little weight.
I can definitely recommend these jeans and currently the Indigo are only £7.50 for some sizes so you cannot go wrong.
===Would I Recommend?===
Some years ago I was given a gift voucher to spend at Marks and Spencer's. At the time I needed some new jeans and decided to take a look even though I didn't really expect to find any decent ones at a reasonable price. I was, however, pleasantly surprised.
I purchased two pairs of their stretch bootcut jeans at an excellent price and they have lasted me for years. In fact I am still wearing them now on a regular basis.
Last year I started a part time office job where I am allowed to wear jeans so I decided to treat myself to some more from Marks and Spencer's.
The ones that I purchased are the bootcut jeans in a stretch denim fabric at the bargain price of just £12.50 per pair. They are available in sizes from 6 right up to 24 and short, medium or long leg lengths and black, dark indigo or indigo colours.
They are advertised as having 'a bootcut style and a flattering, casual fit' and that is exactly what you get. They fit really nicely round my bum and hips and the length and cut of the legs do flatter my figure - such that it is!
The jeans sit on the waist with a proper waistband having belt loops. This was important for me as I don't feel comfortable in trousers that sit below the waist - I always feel as though I should be hitching them up!
They fasten as normal with a zip fly and a button on the waistband. There are two pockets on the back of the jeans - one on each buttock! There are two pockets on the front, one on each side and a small coin pocket inside one of these.
The jeans are made from 98% cotton and 2% elastane which mean that they stretch for a really comfortable fit. The elastane also means that they return to their proper fit during wear so I don't find that I have a baggy seat in my jeans after I have been sitting down for a while!
I would describe these jeans as a lighter weight rather than the thick heavy demin that some jeans are made from. Having said this I have worn mine throughout this cold winter and have been plenty warm enough.
They are machine washable and can be washed at 30 degrees C and tumble dried.
As I said earlier I have had these jeans for some years now and they keep wearing and washing perfectly, always returning to their original snug fit after every wash - although I don't have to lie down on the floor to zip them up these days. Come on girls - who remembers doing that then?
I would definitely recommend these jeans and, when I need to replace mine, I will be heading straight back to Marks and Spencer's!
If these particular jeans don't sound quite your cup of tea I would still advise taking a look at the range in Marks and Spencer's as they have a wide range of styles and colours. I am sure that you would find something to suit.
