“ Brand: Marks & Spencer / Type: Bed Socks „
One of my daughters bought me a pair of these Marks & Spencer Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks for Mothers day and when I first saw them I thought they weren't really something I would wear, but they have grown on me as they are really easy to put on and comfortable to wear.
They cost £5 from Marks and Spencers and you can get them in a nice pastal blue or pink which is the one's I've been bought.
The design is very dainty and the slipper socks have a cute little heart shaped diamane pattern at the front which is quite nice and classy, the detail is good and it's stuck on, I did wonder if this would come off in the wash as most things do if they are stuck on material but so far I have washed them twice on a cool 30 degree wash and they have held their place on the slippers.
The material is 61% polyester, 3% polyamide, 5% acrylic and 1% elastane and the slipper is nice and fluffy and stretches onto the foot when put on. They come in one size and I am a size 5 foot and they fit me alright. At the bottom of the slipper is the rubbery dots that help to stop you slipping, you get these on most slipper socks so even on my linolium in my kitchen I won't slip over in these.
I like these slipper socks as they can be worn inside and are very warm to wear, but they aren't for outside use as I have been out on the patio in them and have been able to feel the ground underneath ny feet in them, where as in the house on the carpet they feel more cushioned and comfortable.
The tops of the slipper sock are nice and lacey to give them a dainty look and all in all the design is one I like, even though pink isn't a colour I usually go for I do like them as they are warm and easy to put on.
These are good for packing away to take on holiday as they don't take up much room in a suitcase and they make a really nice present so I'd be happy to recommend them to you.
Although they are available online from Marks and Spencer they are not always in stock so you may have to go to a shop to buy them.
I like having comfortable warm feet and these fit the bill.
I was given a pair of Marks and Spencer socks for Christmas and I was so pleased with them that when I was in my local high street Marks and Spencer last week I bought a pair of Marks & Spencer Diamonte Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks for the bargain cost of £5.
These slipper socks are only available in one size. The pair I bought were the cream mix colour, they are also available in a duck egg blue colour. To be honest the 2 colours these slipper socks come in are both really nice and it was really hard deciding which colour to buy. I eventually decided on the cream mix, I am considering buying my mum the slipper socks in the duck eff blue colour for Mother's Day.
The slipper socks are really just a very soft slipper minus the usual slipper sole. Instead of a sole the bottom of each slipper socks has ridged dots. I can't honestly see anyone wearing this product as socks. Firstly they are thicker than the socks I normally wear and secondly the ridged dots on the sole might be a bit painful rubbing against the bottom of your shoes/boots. Really I don't even think this product could be worn under slippers. I really think they has been designed to be worn as bed socks and then if you get out of bed during the night to go to the toilet etc. you still have a slight grip on the sole of the slipper socks from the ridged dots - just my opinion! The overall style makes these slipper socks look like ballet pumps, they really looks very cute. They are lovely and comfortable to wear because they are really soft inside and feel cosy and warm. I personally don't find that the ridged dots make the slipper socks painful to walk in. They just offer a bit of a grip.
The slipper socks are made from 61% polyester, 33% polyamide, 5% acrylic and 1% elastane. They are machine washable which gives them an advantage over most slippers. They are very feminine looking and have little diamonte type crystals sewn into the front of the slipper socks. The pattern of the diamontes forms a heart. It's a lovely effect and it makes these slipper socks look very feminine. The fluffy material of the slipper socks helps to add to the feminine look of these slipper socks.
As I said before they are one size so it is advisable to have a good look at the size of these before you buy them. Ladies shoe sizes range from a size 3 to a size 8. I am a size 5 and these slipper socks are just a little bit big for me, I think they would fit a size 6 perfectly. If your feet are any smaller than a size 5 then these slipper socks won't fit you, they will not stay on your feet. The added stretch will allow possibly for a bigger size but definitely not a smaller size. They only have 1% elastane. I think it would have been better if these slipper socks came in size small, medium and large. Then there would be a suitable size for most people.
I have washed these slipper socks in my washing machine at a 30 degree wash and they have washed really well. They do not look at all worn and the fabric has not gone bobbly or faded in any way. I will say the slipper socks remain exactly the same size after you wash them, they do not shrink or stretch. They wash well and I think they will last some time. After 1 wash the ridged dots on the sole are still intact.
All in all I really like these slipper socks. I don't wear them in bed, I wear them around the house and especially in our bedroom because we have a new cream bedroom carpet. They are handy just to slip on and off as we have a no wearing shoes in the bedroom rule because of the new carpet.
Marks and Spencer sell these slipper socks in different styles so really I think if you want to buy a pair of these slipper socks then you will have no trouble finding a style that you like. These slipper socks look better on display in store that they do featured online. The advantage of buying them instore is that you can touch and feel the fabric before you buy and you can try them on.
Perfect for taking on holiday, perfect for round the house and fully washable. I really like these slipper socks. Personally I think they are a bargain for £5.
~Can Diamanté be a girls best friend?~
Amongst the range of cosy winter slippers and lounge wear products available from Marks & Spencers are these pretty M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks which I bought along with a number of other similar items for wear in the cold weather. The colour used to make up my M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks is a pale soft duck egg shade which is relaxing and gentle on the eyes and will go easily with a number of outfits. The style of these M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks is the same as the plainer ones that you can buy from Marks & Spencers except these have a simple trim detail in the shape of a sparkly heart motif on the front section above the toe area.
The feel of the material used to make up these M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks is both soft and light with a fluffy feeling texture that makes for a nice soft feeling pair of slipper socks when worn against the skin. I haven't found these have made my feet sore or caused any rubbing on the skin at all when I have worn them and I feel that they are a nice item to slip on and wear for sitting on the sofa etc on cold winter nights. The choice of material used to make these is a mix of 61% polyester, 33% polyamide 5% acrylic and 1% elastane according to Marks & Spencers and I feel that the materials that have been used make an easy to wear and care for slipper sock that has a limited life span.
~Design, fit and ease of use~
The choice of colours that the M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks come in are either the pale duck egg shade I have or a soft creamy shade. I felt that the duck egg colour was perhaps a little more easy to wear and care for as with paler toned slipper socks even the smallest mark or blemish can really show up making them look messy in next to no time. The finish of the M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks is generally good and they look nice even after a number of washes, although they will not remain in super new looking condition after a few wears as they use quite a light coloured material that will degrade and mark with usage.
The sizing for these M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks is a simple one size hopefully fits all sizing which I have found means that you do need to take care when washing and drying these if placing them into the tumble dryer as they can shrink a little on too warm a drying cycle. The M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks are easy to slip into as you just need to slip them over your toes and heels and the slipper socks do the rest and grip to your feet reasonably well with no sagging. The lace trim on the top edge of my slipper socks wasn't scratchy on my skin even when these were new and it has remained in place after a number of wears, creating a slightly more interesting finish to the slipper socks which looks nice.
These M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks have been made to be able to be worn on their own or as liner socks when wearing other slippers. As they are light enough to be worn with slippers and are of a pale toned material I have worn my M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks along with slippers when walking about in them but have kicked off my slippers when sitting around on the sofa. As the M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks are nice and soft they won't scratch your feet or your sofa when in use and they remain generally nice and soft and fluffy if they are lightly tumbled dry.
~Price and rating~
The cost of these M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks is slightly higher than the plain M & S Fluffy Slipper Socks which are near enough the same without the heart detail on them. The cheaper plain version of these sell for £4 a pair, with these M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks being a whole £1 more at £5 a pair, which I do feel is a little cheeky considering the only difference is the glittery heart trim these have. Over all I feel that the M & S Diamanté Heart Fluffy Slipper Socks are pretty when new yet can become worn quickly if worn on hard flooring too often. As these are no better than the plain M & S Fluffy Slipper Socks that I have I feel that best value for money is from buying the plain non diamanté version as the two types function in the same way and you can save a £1 by sticking with the cheaper pair. Over all these pretty looking M&S Heart Motif Fluffy Slipper Socks get a 3 star rating as they do only have a short life span even when used with care.
