      Highly recommended

It's not really the time of year to be writing about ponchos but never mind, maybe someone will want to buy one ready for the autumn. I bought mine during the winter months earlier in the year and can't wait to be able to get it out again! I'm a fan of autumn and winter and love cosy woolies that look good and keep me warm too, I have a wardrobe full of this kind of thing but I didn't have a poncho with any other kind of neck except a round one. As a lady with a fuller bust I know only too well that V neck shapes are more flattering and round necks can make us big busted girls look bulky even if we're not. When I was browsing on Matalan for some bits I came across this shawl neck poncho and had to have it. It's now on sale too at only £10 whereas it was £20 when I bought mine.

The poncho is black, this is the only colour available, and comes in one size. I was dubious about the size issue because often one size fits all means it might fit some people and then again might not. I didn't have to worry, I'm a size 12 in tops and this is fine on me but very roomy, if you're a tiny size 8 it will swamp you so don't buy it and if you're over a size 18 again I don't think it would fit so don't bother. All sizes in between will be fine although at the 10 and 12 end it is going to have plenty of room. I like the fact it's spacious so it's perfect for me. The poncho is made up of 58% acrylic, 32% cotton and 10% nylon so I wash it on a safe 30 degree wash as that's the lowest temperature my machine has. It washes fine but cannot be tumble dried and I find it best to hang it over a bar of the clothes horse to dry it, don't hang it on a hanger or it will stretch the shoulder area out of shape.

The actual shawl neck is ribbed and in the shape of a V neck with one side crossing over the other at the bottom and a slight bit that is turned over like a collar. V shaped necks are very flattering if you have any bust whatsoever and particularly so if you have a big bust. There are arms on the poncho so you don't have to keep flapping material out of the way to get your arms out! The rest of it drops down slightly lower at the back than the front. It can be worn over jeans, leggings, a long skirt, smart trousers or casual combats so it's very versatile too. It does keep me warm in the cold weather and I like to wear it when it's cold enough to need a warm top but not a coat as a coat will not fit over it unless you also have a poncho style coat! I wear vest tops, t-shirts or long sleeved tops under this but you could also wear a shirt with a collar because of that helpful V neck shape.

Overall I love this, it's warm and flattering and I can't wait to get mine back out again. Roll on autumn! At the time of writing it's at £10 so very cheap too and can only be purchased through Matalan. I don't think they'll have them in store right now so buy online if you want one. A full 5 stars from me.
