“ Brand: Matalan / Type: Short dressing gown / Bath robe / Gender: Female / Clothing Class: Sleep Wear „
I think there is nothing nicer than putting your pyjamas and dressing gown on and snuggling in front of the television in the evening. I have got a few dressing gowns of varying lengths for the different seasons and I wear this short dressing gown in the spring and autumn months when it is not cold enough for my floor length one and too warm for my thin summer ones. There is a Matalan near to where I work so I often pop down in my lunch hour to have a look as I do like their clothes as I find them well priced and good quality. I bought this one for £12.00 in a size 16-18 last year, but they also come in sizes 8-10, 12-14 and 20-22. This size is quite generous on me but it enables me to wrap myself up in it and feels lovely and snugly. Mine is a medium pink colour but I have seen them in a paler pink and also cream at the same price. This is called a short dressing gown but it actually comes to just below my bottom. It has two large deep pockets to the front and a belt which is long enough to tie at the front of the dressing gown and which holds it in place when tied. There is a fold back collar which goes all the way round the neck and down to the chest and the wrap over is very generous so that when you tie the belt round it doesn't gape open. It is made of 100 per cent polyester and is very soft and fluffy to the touch. I will wash it in the washing machine on a 30 or 40 degree wash and it dries very quickly and seems to fluff back up again when it is dry. My tumble dryer is currently not working but I would probably finish it off in there if it was working. This dressing gown is very well made and has shown no signs of wear and tear and I have worn and washed it a lot now. I would definitely buy another one of these from Matalan and they also do a similar one in a long length which I would also buy which I think is around £16. This dressing gown does look and feel a lot more expensive than it was, it definitely keeps me feeling cosy and snug and is recommended by me.
WHAT IS IT? A dressing gown that is sold in Matalan. THE DESIGN This is a short dressing gown but it is not as short as it looks in the photograph that Dooyoo have got up. It comes to my mid thigh and has got a belt that is made out of the same material, the belt can be removed but I do not know why you would want to do that. My dressing gown is pale pink and has got full length sleeves and 2 large square pockets also. THE OPTIONS IN MATALAN There are lots of different colours available in this dressing gown, most of them are solid coloured but some have got patterns on like stars or hearts. I liked a lilac one that had white stars all over it but they did not have it in my size and I needed to buy a dressing gown that day. Longer length dressing gowns are available also. QUALITY I have bought short dressing gowns many times from Matalan and they are always very high quality. They last very well and I keep each dressing gown for sometimes up to a whole year even though I wear it at least 3 times every week and wash my dressing gown regular as well. The stitches around the pockets are strong and around all of the dressing gown seams also, I am talking about my pink dressing gown but that has been the same for all of them that I have had. On one the belt split along the seam but that has happened only once so I think it was a faulty belt and not a problem with the quality of these dressing gowns. WHAT I THINK I like these dressing gowns very much and that is why I buy most of my short dressing gowns from Matalan. They are very warm and cosy but because of them being shorter than usual they will keep me cool in the summer also. The selection of colours and patterns makes you able to buy 2 or 3 from the same range if you wear dressing gowns a lot and when I was pregnant last year I was quite sick so wore a dressing gown every day, all day sometimes and I liked that I could change into one that was a different colour instead of wearing the same one all the time. I wash them on a normal 40 wash in the washing machine but I do not tumble dry them and dry my dressing gowns on the washing line outside or over the top of a radiator. I do not know if they would shrink but my daughter has had blankets that are made out of the same material and they have shrunk when I have dried them so I do not like to try it. I like the deep pockets because I can carry my phone and a soother for my baby daughter around my home, the pockets have not stretched even when I have put big things in there like my daughters bottle or the receiver section of my baby monitor. ANYTHING ELSE The dressing gowns come in small, medium and large sizes and fit very well. They cost between £12 - £16 and I think that is value because sometimes you can buy a dressing gown for £10 and it is not any good after a few months but this one from Matalan lasts a lot longer. 5 Dooyoo Stars.
When it comes to dressing gowns they are actually something I collect for some reason and I own lots of them in many different colours and styles! I don't know why but people buy me them for me and I buy them but saying that I am a lazy bones in this cold weather and will often stay in my warm nightclothes opposed to getting dressed. I was really pleased when, for Christmas I got a short dressing gown as I only own one of them! I love them for sitting in bed with them on writing reviews or reading a book or watching a dvd and find that they look really smart and I even wear the other one I have over my clothes as it is so plain and snuggly! This one is available in two colour options. Pink and then a very light cream with stars on it. These are the only two options I can see that are the same dressing gown with the plain pink one being £10.00 and the one my mum got me at the slightly higher price of £16.00. So the dressing gown comes in 4 sizes (which ever colour option you decide on) and they are 8-10, 12-14, 16-18 and 20-22. Now I am a size 10 at the moment and find the 8-10 to be the perfect size for me being that it really does seem to be more of a size 10 than a size 8 so on a size 8 person it would be a bit more snugglier and comfy I guess! My cream one with light beige stars on it is simply lovely to look at and to wear. In appearance it has the pattern on the outside of start, it has a huge patterned hood and then inside it has 2 cream ribbons to tie it up with then a matching patterned belt which hooks through two hoops to keep it secure and its a lovely length. Me being 5.8 in height comes to just below my bum. Although this is a thick 100% polyester fluffy dresing gown and really warming it isn't too thick, heavy or bulky. It has like a diamond sort of texture to it and it is perfectly finished off to the highest quality with the hems double stitched and no hanging threads or anything like that. I also like the fact that to each side of the dressing gown there are 2 very large deep pockets, again trimmed with some cream ribbon across them and these are just so handy to stash alot of things into. All in all I absoloutely love this short styled dressing gown. Its machine washable and tumble dryer suitable and I never bother ironing mine cos I simply don't feel the need to but I guess turned inside out and on a lowish heat ironing it wouldn't hurt it at all. I've experienced no colour fade or the quality to impair at all over time through washing and wearing it and now....well I wouldn't want to be without it...its just so comfy and the hood is great for keeping my bonce warm as well! Only available in Matalan stores.
