“ Brand: Minnies / Type: Bath Robe „
On my visit to Brentwood, Essex for my birthday night out back in April we all decided that the day after our night out we would do a bit of a tour visiting some of the boutiques that feature on the only way is Essex. My brother had given me some money for my birthday and so I decided I would quite like to pick up a Minnie's dressing gown from the boutique owned by Sam and Billie Faiers.
When we went in the boutique there was a dressing gown on a counter top and so I could get a good feel for it but the different sizes were in a cardboard box underneath one of the rails and so we had to have a mooch to make sure we got the right size but you can also order them online from the Minnie's boutique website where they come in sizes S, M, L, and XL and will cost £34.99.
The dressing gown is made from 100% polyester but it is very soft and cosy when you put it on and feels much like those super soft dressing gowns you can buy to be honest. It is very comfortable to wear and it keeps me warm when I am mooching around the house at night and don't really want to put my central heating on as my son then gets too warm in bed as we have no adjusters on our radiators to be able to just heat one room. The gown features a ribbon inside to tie and I would recommend doing this if you are wearing it after a bath or something or before getting ready to go out because if you don't tie the ribbon the gown has the habit of falling right open and you are very likely to unintentionally flash someone if naked underneath.
The dressing gown is black and so it looks classic in my opinion and it is much more grown up looking than my last one which was covered in pink hearts! The whole look of the dressing gown is classy in my opinion really as it features a satin trim around the pockets, cuffs and the hood too as well as a small diamante tag coming from one of the pockets as well. What I love about the gown is the gold coloured embroidered Minnie's logo on the back of the dressing gown as it really stands out and looks pretty to me. Ok, I realise many people won't have a clue what the Minnie's is on the back of it but I know and I like it very much.
The dressing gown comes to perhaps my knees, or just above, and I am only five foot one and so on someone taller this is going to be quite a short dressing gown. I notice if I bend over that it really rides up at the back and so again you are quite likely to flash someone if you aren't careful! I do tend to wear my dressing gown over my pyjamas unless I am getting ready to go out and so I don't really worry too much about this. I bought a large dressing gown which according to the website would suit people sizes 10-12 but I think would be fine for a 14 to be honest too. The dressing gown is quite fitted though so if you like a baggy fit I would say go a size up from normal.
I have washed the dressing gown a couple of times just in a normal 40 degree wash using fabric conditioner along side the powder or liquid I use for washing and I can say that it comes out really nice and soft and just as cosy as it was when I first bought it and is showing no signs of wear and tear at all.
I would totally recommend this dressing gown because it is comfortable, warm and looks nice as well in my opinion. I suppose at £34.99 it isn't the cheapest and to a certain extent you are paying for the boutique name but I am still happy with my purchase.
Thank you for reading my review!
