“ Brand: Moira C / Type: Scarf „
===What is a Scarflace?===
A Scarflace is a scarf with magnets attached to both ends which can be fitted together to form a circle.
Moira started making and selling these back in 1992: originally they had different fastenings but the innovation of using magnets came in a few years ago and has been very successful.
The magnetic fasteners are either gold or silver colour - depending on the colour and the scarf.
===Moira C and the Brand===
Moira C is the brand name - It stands for Moira Clutton - who, as she tells everyone - 'has seven chldren and lives in a Windmill'!
Moira lives in Lincolnshire and prides herself on her Scarflaces being made of seven components and being made in Britain.
The scarflaces have been made and sold since 1992 and as well as shopping channels and her own website Moira sells at various shows around the country - up and coming shows are usually listed on her website.
===How I First Found Moira C===
While stuck at home ill I came across her on Ideal World Shopping Channel.
Moira is a very energetic and vibrant lady - in her 50s - she is not ashamed to say.
Her enthusiasm is infectious and she regularly asks for people to phone in live and give their opinions - I did once - she rang me after the show for a chat and also sent me some scarflaces as a thank-you - not special treatment - she does this for all the ladies who ring in I believe.
===Customer Service & Guarantee===
Moira also has great customer service and for those people who bought scarves a while ago and who have the old filigree/necklace sort of fastener she offers a service where you can send in your old scarves to her and they will fit magnetic ends instead (for a small charge).
There is also a lifetime guarantee on the magnets so it you step on them or they get caught in the car door and damaged etc. they can also be replaced.
Moira C. also states that if you buy a multi pack of say four Scarflaces from Ideal World and there is one you do not like like - get in touch with her and she will sort out a replacement.
57ins (145cm) by 9.5ins (24cm).
(Width and length of scarflaces may vary slightly depending on pattern and cut of fabric).
Over 80 different colours and patterns are currently on Moira's website.
Moira C has a vast array of different patterns and colours. Also she continually brings out new patterns.
The range varies from the classic black and white in a variety of different designs; butterflies, dots, spots, swirls, equestrian, geometric, cafe culture, abstract and animal. There is also Moira's classic 'Vintage' pattern which is diagonal bands of animal print interspersed with a sort of lace print - this has been going for many years but keeps coming out in new colour combinations.
There is an extensive selection of browns to creams - as florals, patterns and animal patterns. Also purples, reds, pinks, lilacs, blues and navys with some greens and yellows as well.
Man made materials - some are thin polyesters while others have what Moira called 'lucky dust' which is a sparkly sort of thread running through the material - not itchy or scratchy - just a very subtle shimmer when you look closely - it is not the same as having a glitter scarf!
The delux versions are burnout devore and there are also some that are a little thicker and more suited for winter.
Also the material does not need ironing.
These can be put in a washball and washed at 30 degrees - or rinsed through by hand.
(I find they never get really dirty so a quick rinse in the sink is all they need.)
According to Moira -'its a scarf that thinks its a wardrobe'.
The name was coined as a combination of scarf and necklace.
So it can be worn as a scarf, a necklace or else worn inside a jacket to give the appearance or a blouse (so long as you keep your jacket on!).
It can add colour to any outfit and can be worn in a variety of ways - see 'styles' below.
If you have never seen Moira perform on TV you can either buy a DVD showing how to do the styles or else watch various shows which are on YouTube. There are also instructions on Moira's website.
I can confirm there are many different ways of wearing the scarflace and can list about 20:

Yes would say I really like these. I have had quite a few over the years and also given lots as Christmas gifts - as they will suit anyone and you do not need to know their size.
I have a black polka dot one I keep or funerals, animal print one for any occasion, another black and white one and also one of those sort of equestrian prints in rose and old gold with a glittery thread in places - very subtle.
Over the years I have had ones with cherubs, butterflies, more animal prints, one with a Parisian street scene and an abstract one.
Moira is always bringing out new designs so I always want something new.
I get around this by selling older ones on Ebay to fund me buying new ones.
I tend to use these more in wintertime - they brighten up the most boring jumper and trousers and also a plain black coat. Even the lighter weight ones are surprisingly warm around the neck.
I loved the idea of the pussy cat bow style as it looks quite dressy.
It can easily be done using a covered hair bobble elastic (or just an elastic band if you are pushed).
One negative I would say is about the scarf clips on sale in that they do not really have big enough holes for the whole scarf to fit through easily - so I have never got on with them and sold mine on Ebay.
However the clips can be used as brooches and are quite nice - and you can use hair bobbles to do the pussy cat bow - so you do not need to buy the scarf clip at all.
Perhaps it is just that I like to be able to pull the whole of the scarf right through the scarf clip - Moira does it on TV by just pulling the material partially through - if you watch on YouTube you will see what I mean.
===Would I Recommend?===
Yes definitely. the scarves are lightweight, versatile and do brighten up outfits. Are lightweight to carry in your bag and do not crease.
Only negative is about the scarf clips but you do not have to buy these at all to go with the scarves anyway.
5 Stars - try and pick up a bargain set from Ideal World or when on sale on Moira's website to save paying £20- £25 each.
Or look on Ebay.
