As this horrible recession wanders on, dragging down our local businesses and shops with it, it seems one of it's latest victims has been fashion chain, Morgan. I was gutted by this news, as Morgan was one of the last fashion brands to offer good quality clothing that stands out from the crowd. Morgan is a very European-based brand I believe, which helps add to the slightly unusual designs and style of the clothes. The shops themselves are always very well put together, although most that I've been to are quite small. This being said, in my experience, they are always made to look so tidy, and almost as though they have a much smaller selection than they actually do! I think Morgan tend to cater more for smaller sizes, although they do offer up to a size Large. I wear the X-Small/Small sizes, so not sure what size a Large would fit in UK terms. I really love going into Morgan to shop as the sales assistants are always so happy to help, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are hapy to stand with a few items for you to try on, and are always great at giving their opinion on the clothes (if you ask for it!). The clothes themselves are always really well made, and, as I said, tend to be just that little bit different. I really like the range of animal print items they do, they really stand out! I tend to find that, when buying items from some other high street stores, everyone around has the same item or very similar, and everyone ends up looking the same. This doesn't happen with Morgan, either because the items are slightly more expensive, or that the shops just aren't as popular as others, therefore not so many people are buying the same outfits. Their range of clothes are quite good, certainly not as large as many of their rivals, but certainly adequate, and I always end u with a variety of items to try on! Some of the Morgan stores are concessions in larger department stores, so obviously they don't have the room to show off the full range available. I find that some of the larger catalogues also carry Morgan items, and this tends to give a larger range. My one main problem with Morgan was slightly touched on above - namely, the price. Although the quality of the garments are fabulous, you do have to expect to pay for this. I suppose a part of it is paying for the designer label too. Personally, I don't mind paying the extra to know that I've received something a little different! Overall, a brilliant fashion chain, carrying a good range of gorgeous clothes. Hopefully someone will buy them over, if not, Morgan will be sadly missed!
I have been a fan of morgan for several years. I once bought a morgan top in cardiff, since that time i have adored morgan tops. I dont find there jeans the best, but there tops are spot on. Morgan do some strange tops mind, ones with morgan written all over them, these can look nice on some people, but for me i find these are a little over the top and i prefer to go for the tops which a plainer. Morgan do a top which for the last 3 years i have rebought every year, i do hope they never get rid of it. Its plain with several colours, and makes you bust seem bigger. Its one of the most flattering tops i have and too be honest i find alot of the morgan tops very flattering. Morgan are very expensive, at about £30 a top, £70 for jeans, so maybe try ebay and you may get some bargains. Morgan dont do sizes liked we'd know, they are t2-t1, so make sure you get the write size, im an 8-10 and get a t1-t2. Morgan clothes last along time, they are very hard wearing, so i guess moneywise they are worth it. Overall cant recommend them enough
While clothes shopping in lakeside one day I decided to check out the Morgan shop by the escalators.. I had shopped in there before and bought a few different tops and other clothes I saw a lovely white vest top with a printed skull and cross bone design on the front. It had a black piece of material to pull the straps on the back together. It cost about £35. I tried it on and it fit perfectly and even though £35 was a bit expensive for a vest I bought it. I wore my top out once. But when I washed it Disaster!! The black material on the back ran into the white. I was so annoyed it was ruined. I thought I would take it back to the shop no problem and get my money back. But what a palaver that was! The lady said she couldn't give me my money back as it wasn't faulty and it had been worn so they couldn't re-sell it. I insisted that I wanted my money back as I could not wear it again. The lady finally agreed to send it to her head office. All she gave me was a piece of paper with a number on and said I would get a call from their head office. I never did get a call. So I called the number and spoke to a man. He agreed with the shop that I shouldn't have been given a refund. Apparently he saw me wash it at the wrong temperature 40'c ?? he insisted this was why the colour had run. I said no way I wash all my stuff at 30'c. He finally agreed that I should be able to get my money back. Unfortunately I lost the piece of paper. And I don't go to lakeside often. So Morgan took my money, my top and were really rude to me on the phone. So now I hate them!!!
Morgan is a store that stocks high class high street clothes, they have over 600 retail outlets worldwide and stock mainly in department stores such as Debenhams. Morgan is definitely aimed at women from 18 to 35, which is very obvious when you visit one of their stores. Straight away you will notice the funky modern layout of the shop and the colourful array of clothes before you. They also stock jewellery, perfume, nighclothes, underwear, bags and belts. Morgan makes a lot of signature items that they bring out each year, these items are t-shirts, jumpers and bags. They always have the MORGAN logo on the front and the bags are plastered in Ms. I have brought a number of Morgan items over the years, a few years ago it was my favourite store on the high-street. Every Saturday I would buy a top to go out in and people have always commented on them. Morgan items are very good quality and I still have all the tops that I brought years ago, there arent many high street clothes that would normally last that long. The store can be a little more expensive depending on what you buy, the simple items like t-shirts are about £10 more but when you consider how much better quality and how long they will last its worth it. The shoes and bags also are more expensive, Im not that keen on the shoes to be honest and I wouldnt pay the extra for them. They dont stand out like Morgan clothes and accessories can do. Morgan definitely makes sexy and sometimes provocative clothing, which is great for clubbing. They do also make casual wear but I think all of it is aimed at making women look hot! I remember a few years ago when everyone was wearing their leather mini-skirts and leather trousers! Theyre belts are something else and are so unusual, they are always very noticeable and come in great textures like snakeskin with loads of bling, you can pay up to £30 for one of their belts though. Morgan is also a great store to buy swimwear, last year I brought a lovely bikini and kaftan. It felt so luxurious and was really beautiful. To sum things up I would say Morgan is definitely not for the faint hearted of girls and dont bother shopping there if your afraid to show a little skin. But if you love your clothes flashy and you love your bling you will not be disappointed, I would recommend buying one of their signature t-shirts or jumpers and you will wear and wear it for years to come!
Morgan clothes are quite a favouite of mine. Lately there is a much bigger and better range of stylish and sexy clothes. The fit on the clothes are spot on for me, i usually have trouble for instance if the waist fits the legs dont etc, but i do find Morgan are spot on. I would recommened to most women as they have a great range to choose from and the prices are not too bad.
i like morgan clothes they are so fashionable and sexy clothes for girl to wear in summer and spring season, the most intersting is the skirt for women to feel free and open-minded and to have the sensation of freedome and that she is sexy that would make her so special and having self-independent so morgan it has nice clothes but i would like to tell is that the price is low because not all people could by such expensive clothes
Last year, I bought a bag from the Morgan shop in the Trafford Centre. I bought it because, at the time, those kind of bags were in fashion at school. I used it every day for the whole year to carry around heavy school books. Within a couple of weeks of use, it was looking a bit tatty. By the end of the year, it had quite a few holes in it, and partly because of this and the fabric the bag was made of, rain was able to leak through. However, I did find that, for only £12 pounds, the bag was good value for money, and lasted the full year. Morgan also do a wide range of womens clothing, which can be found in most department stores, such as Selfridges and John Lewis, as well as the Morgan shop itself. The clothes are great quality, with high fashion status, and for fairly cheap prices. Their clothes demonstrate a high variety of colour, individuality and style. Prices range from as low as £5 for accessories, to £50 for a pair of decent trousers.
Morgan would not really be a favourite shop of mine. I can't really put my finger on it, but i just leave it for "last resorts" when i can't find anything else on the high street for a special ocassion. But i must admit that quite often i find something i like in there. I just resent the prices. And i'm not terribly keen on the staff either. Generally (in my experience) narcissistic and uninterested in selling the clothes, more into standing around imitating the immaculately dressed mannequins in the window. Anyway, forgetting about the staff, Morgan's clothes come in three sizes: 1,2 and 3. (slightly ambiguous, but just think S,M,L) They are quite small fitting, but for smaller girls the cut is usually very flattering. The designs are also modern and pretty. But the selling point is that the clothes are also unusual, with intricate detailing. Very French and very chic. The new lines for this season are pretty, with bows and florals seeming popular. I've already seen a few items i'd like for my wardrobe, but i doubt that the bank balance will stretch that far. The Morgan Stores are laid out in the "White Box" design. White walls, glass fronted stores and quite sparse rails. The store is very tasteful and attractive to look into. The clothes also have evolved, and it is not so common to see the vest tops and t-shirts having "MORGAN" emblazoned all over the front any more. I have a few Morgan items in my wardrobe that i wear year after year, such is the quality and cut. They just don't age. On the other hand i also have thrown out many items from the store as they were out of fashion within a season. What i'd just like to say is, although i can't put my finger on why i don't like the store, I certainly wouldn't write it off my shopping trips because of price, quality or staff. These things vary with each store or item. Plus Morgan's sales are alw ays very good, with many items going half price almost at once. Then is the best time to part with your cash!
Morgan is a chain of designer high street stores, which are present all over England, stocking their own brand including, underwear, bags, jeans, t-shirts, and more smart stuff as well. Morgan is also stocked at outlets such as DB3 and department stores such as Debenhams. Thinking along the same lines as Topshop? You'd be wrong! Morgan doesn't really stock casual clothing, and also doesn't seem to stock anything that comes within the range of Topshop prices! I'll give you an example, my friend bought a see-through vest. You know, the mesh kind, with 'Morgan' written in sequins across the chest. Ok, so £25 would have been more than enough to pay for it (come on, it gets plucked as soon as you wear it!). But no, this flimsy mesh vest cost £55!!!! But ok, I can deal with this, I too have been a sucker for buying overly expensive clothing just because of the name displayed. What really gets to me is that the majority of things sold at Morgan you could pick up on the market. Everything looks so cheap & made out of nylon. To be frank, you can go in Internacionale and get exactly the same stuff for a fraction of the price. Yet everyone turns their noses up at Internacionale, because apparently it's cheap and tacky. So how come the same people are willing to go to Morgan and buy the same stuff for such a high price??? You also can't head to Morgan for something plain. You know, like a plain black top for the night. Oh no, you may think you spot one, but as you get close, the reality is that it has needless sequins stuck on it, or has a slash down so you bare all to everyone. This is another of Morgan's bad points! Seen on screen, or from a distance, you may even be led to believe that the item of clothing you are looking at is gorgeous. Get a little bit closer and you'll probably change your mind. From the few items that I have purchased from Morgan, all have been of poor quality. Seams have come away, zips have broken, and clothing is ruined all too easily. When in a Morgan store I have never received great service, mostly due to staff having more interest in the way they look, checking themselves out in the mirrors, rather do ing their job of serving the customers. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure some people love Morgan; it's just definitely not for me. I just don't see what they have to offer that is any better than anywhere else, and how they justify their prices! Website - www.morgandetoi.com
