Advantages: good quality clothes, excellent REAL sales!
Disadvantages: can be pricey but wait for the sales.
I love Morgan clothes for a list of reasons that I hope to explain in this op. However, there are some other reasons why I dislike them as well - all will hopefully become clear in this op! Morgan produces clothes for young women suitable for clubbing, casual wear and occasionally more formal occasions. Their trademark or "logo" is a love heart that is normally on its side, either this or their name is splattered all over the outfit and I do mean all over! The clothes change regularly with the seasons and are always up to the minute reflecting the latest trends and catwalk designs. Importantly, the clothes are very easy to mix and match as, if you look around a Morgan shop or department, they are always based around 3 or 4 colours. Of course black is always in fashion and, as its my favourite colour, I can always find something I like. My favourite item of Morgan clothing is their tops. Whether its their own brand T-shirts (complete with obligatory heart) or their stretchy Lycra tops, they are always good value for money. Morgan may not be the cheapest around (most tops are about £20) but the quality of the material is excellent. They use a lot of satiny-lycra material that is wonderfully thick and stands up to constant washing and wearing. The attention to detail is wonderful, even if it's only the tiny black label sewn on the side seam of their tops. Some of the tops can be a bit "over the top" with "Morgan" printed all over them! I'm not that much of a name dropper! Anyway, the tops always fit me perfectly and hug in all the right places! I must confess that it is normally tops that I buy from Morgan for reasons that I will explain later! My main reason for being so attached to Morgan clothes is their sales. Even though I would buy some of the clothes at full price their sales are tremendous and THE place to pick up a bargain. This January I had a great time at their sale. I
had had my eye on a particularly fetching PVC jacket (if you've read my profile you will know about PVC and I!). It was £90, which was a bit out of my price range. However, at their sale I watched it come down and down. Half price was still a bit much but when I saw it for £23 I could not resist! As well as my jacket I also bought two tops reduced from £20 to £6!!!! It's not as if these things are the height of fashion and I can only wear them for one season - they are perfectly functional tops. There were other bargains such as a fake leather skirt for £5 and fake leather trousers for £12. But this is where I start on my dislikes of Morgan. If you are larger than a size 12 I would forget about Morgan. Unfortunately Morgan is one of those places that thinks everyone is the same shape and size as a supermodel. I quite fancied the leather trousers I mentioned above but it was a definite no go. I'm a size 8 -10 but there was no way these trousers were going over my hips and thighs! Even if they had they were made for someone who was about 6 foot and not 5 foot 2! Some of the skirts are the same being far too small on the hips and I'm afraid my stomach is in no fit state to wear hipster skirts! I've had problems with some of the tops as well. Fine if you are flat-chested Kate Moss lookalike but some of these tops are impossible to wear bras underneath. It would be a case of indecent exposure with some of them and I'm not exactly big up top! Morgan is well worth a look for those indispensable black Lycra tops and, if you have the right figure, for skirts and trousers. However at sale time head straight for Morgan and pick up some tremendous bargains!

- 26/02/01 I haven't ever seen this shop! |

- 22/02/01 Sometimes the material can be very fine and thin but most of the tops i have are really thick and good quality. I suppose it just depends on the material they decide to use for that particular garment. |

- 21/02/01 This is a great op but I can't agree with you about the brand - I always thought their clothes looked a bit cheap (even though they're not particularly). Might be because they're ripped off so much though (on markets etc). |
