“ Brand: Motel / Type: Dress „
I'm not a girly girl who will dress in bright colours or outrageous flower patterns because it just isn't me but when I saw this dress I ha to have it. There are several different styles of this dress and I've owned almost all of them but this is the "Linda" version in the blue rose and ribbon collection. Motel can be found in boutique shops but is also sold in Topshop and can be found on various websites, all prices vary on this dress depending where you buy it from, I bought mine new from ebay with tags for just £15.98 a long time ago. Although I loved the dress I was a little disappointed because it doesn't look or fit exactly like the picture.
Like all motel dresses this come sin size xs, s, m and l. I bought the size small which is an 8-10. The dress is a boobtube dress so it has no straps but I found wearing this with a strapless bra looked stupid, It didn't look right like the model pictures did so I always had my bra straps up, as long as they way black it looked fine. The bust part is supposed to shaped around your breasts but I found that was't really the case it was more of just straight across with a little dip in the middle rather than actually shaped, this is the same height around the back as well so it won't slip down your back ro you don't have to worry about your bra strap showing. This part is black and goes down to the waist. It then should flare out a little into a tulip shaped bottom, but I found it didn't really do this either it was just a little rounded. On each side there is a discrete pocket in the skirt with I might add it well hidden. The skirt part is bright blue with of course rose and ribbons printed on it.
This is made of a thin cotton type material so it isn't flimsy and the top part is stretchy so it doesn't fall down. The skirt part is equally as thick at the top part as well. The design is very eye catching with the bright colours and the beautiful design, which is why I bought this. I don't buy clothes for just going out or best clothes because I like to look nice all the time so I wore this on a casual day as well. If worn out Id wear with heels, if it was just a casual day I would have a small black blazer, long necklace, flats and dark tights which really made the skirt part stand out even more.
This dress was a big disappointment to me, i'm only 5ft 2" but this always slipped down my bust to reveal my bra so I was constantly pulling it up and this wasn't very long so after pulling it up I have to pull it back down to stop myself revealing other body parts that shouldn't of been on show. This was really annoying, it was like I was wearing a Tshirt and trying to pull it off as a dress, it was no worth the hassle. Also when I had worn this a couple of times I noticed the seems in the bust started coming undone. So I repaired the item and this dress found itself back on ebay.
