      A Dress to Impress

The Leopard print range of dresses by Motel were introduced on the ASOS website in 2010, I think around the end of Summer time if I remember correctly. I've always quite liked dresses by Motel, they are usually of a similar style with a plain colour on the bottom half and then some kind of pattern on the top half, the dresses tend to look like a top/skirt combo, people often don't realise that it is in fact a one piece dress which is what I think makes them so versatile.

I had my works Christmas party coming up, which is one of the biggest events in my year as they always hire out a big fancy venue and it becomes a competition between the females to see who is wearing the nicest dress! In the last couple of years I've noticed the girls dresses becoming more and more revealing (I think they are seeing what they can get away with since it is a work event) and I knew that this years would probably be no different. I am on maternity leave at the minute having only just had my son in September, so I wanted to show my colleagues at the December christmas party that I was still looking good and that I "still had it" (haha). So I browsed through many fashion sites looking for something that would look flattering on me and be just a tad revealing.

It is usually ASOS that I end up buying my outfit from because they never fail to have something that catches my eye and this time round it was the Leopard style Motel dresses. I faced a bit of a dilemma though because they were available in so many different cuts and styles. There was one nearly identical to this one but it wasn't low cut, it had a full front with a scoop neck, the back was also different with a "cage" cut out. This 'Dalphine' shape I opted for was low cut at the front as you can see in the picture, so it reveals a bit of cleavage but not too much and the back has a "ladder" cut. Have a look on the ASOS website if you don't quite understand what I mean. But anyway I thought it was perfect for what I was looking for AND it had been reduced from £39 down to £28 so I was quick to snap it up.

My only concerns with the dress were first of all whether the material that covers your bust would stay in place or whether I would have to purchase "Booby Tape" to stick it down. Secondly, since this isn't the style of dress that you can wear a bra with I was concerned that you would be able to see my nipple through the material since I would be wearing it on a very chilly December night! Thankfully neither was a problem, the dress held in place across my cleavage without needing any tape, even though it was windy. Also my nipples weren't visible at all because the leopard print did a good job at disguising them! My bust is only a 34B and I have a feeling that those with a bigger bust might need some Fashion Tape to hold the dress in place across their cleavage though, so if you are going to buy this dress then leave enough time to be able to try it on and get some Fashion tape if needs be! Asos also sell tape for around £4/£5 by the way.

This dress has now been even further reduced down to £23 on the ASOS site so it really is a bargain. It is available in Sizes XS-S-M-L.

      It's 51% Cotton, 46% Rayon & 3% Elastane.

Hand Wash only and Dry Flat, which I did myself and it's still in top condition.
