A cute pair of socks but not worth £3.50

These socks are adorable and really unique too. I don't usually buy Topshop socks as they are quite expensive and I can't really justify paying £3.50 for just one pair (or pick and mix 3 pairs for £8) however I had quite a bit of spare cash last month and was in need of a bit of a 'pick me up' and so I had a splurge at Topshop and this pair of socks was one of my purchases. The socks are a dark shade of grey (charcoal) with little grey mice all over them. The mice are all identical in experience - grey with a white patch of their stomaches, a smiling face and a little pink hankerchief or bow tie (I can't tell!) around their necks - really cute.

The socks are ankle socks and come mid-calf on me, although they can obviously be worn rolled down as well. The only problem is that because these are so adorable I want to show them off and wear them out and about but they're quite hard to match with an outfit because socks don't look great with shorts unless they're thigh high and the design obviously is not noticeable when worn under trousers so it's a bit pointless buying them as a fashion statement! I personally wear mine with my pyjamas as they are really warm and comfy but lightweight enough to be worn in bed. My friends who I share a house with have already commented several times that my socks are cute and even my male friend who likes to think he's hard as nails said "aww look at your feet, they look cute in them mouse socks" haha.

Considering that I paid £3.50 for this pair of socks, I must admit that I was expecting them be pure cotton but after inspecting the label they are actually made up of: 45% cotton, 27% polyamide, 27% polyester and 1% elastane. They are still nice and soft and comfy despite not being a hundred percent cotton and the quality is pretty good although not very thick - they are thick enough to keep my feet reasonably warm but they are very lightweight in comparison to a majority of my other socks and have quite a strange smooth/silky feel to them - they are definetly quite slippy on my wooden floor which is probably the nylon as alot of my nylon tops are quite silky feeling. I can definetly tell they have elastane around the top as they adjust to the shape of my leg/ankle so they're not too big or small - they do not fall down when I pull them up and do not feel too tight.

They are machine washable and I have washed mine around 5 times. The colour is now slightly faded out which i'm not too impressed with however they don't look scruffy or washed out and the design is still very clear - the stitching is fine, there's no bobbling and the socks have not lost their shape. . Overall a cute pair of socks, however I won't be purchasing another pair (unless I really love the design) as they aren't worth £3.50 in my opinion due to the lack of quality.
