Jumpers with cutesy logos or photos on the front seem to have become very popular in recent times but I was looking for something a bit plainer recently and saw this jumper on the New Look website. I ended up going to my local store and buying it as I liked the look of it so much.
This cost £12.99 which I think is an excellent price. Jumpers aren't something I would wear that often so I was reluctant to pay anything over £20. I was shocked at how cheap it was as it definitely looks and feels more expensive.
This is available in sizes to 8 to 18 so a good range of sizes is covered, and I personally have always found that New Look sizing is pretty much spot on.
I ordered my usual size, a 12. The jumper is designed to be quite loose, and so if you prefer a neater fit, you might want to try on a size smaller as it may be too much on the baggy side for you. I like the looser fit however as it is comfortable and hides a multitude of sins! The sleeves are quite long, again due to the baggy nature of the jumper, but I just rolled the cuffs up slightly. The neck of the jumper is also fairly wide so it will show off any necklaces you may wish to wear with it.
This is 100% acrylic but I didn't find it itchy against my skin - sometimes woollen materials can irritate me but there was no problem with this at all. The material feels soft, warm, cosy, and more expensive than the cheap price would suggest.
I have washed this once and it seems the material suffered no ill effects. I do expect that the jumper will become less soft with repeated washing but I feel that is to be expected with that kind of material, and the very reasonable price means that this isn't going to be a major problem. Similarly it didn't shrink or become mis-shapen in the wash. The recommended washing temperature is 30 degrees so stick to the instructions and you should be fine!
When I bought it I thought that I might need to wear a black vest underneath it in case my skin/underwear showed through the knit, but this was not the case. It was warm enough not to have to wear anything underneath also.
The jumper comes to just below the waist, so it's not really suitable for leggings - well, not in my opinion anyway!
I have worn this with a denim mini, with bootcut jeans and with skinny jeans and I have found that it has really suited all of those. It's lovely to wear under a autumn/winter coat if you're out in the cold weather. However it's also perfect just for slobbing around the house as it's nice and cosy to wear.
WOULD I RECOMMEND?
Yes! I am really glad I bought this. I have worn it several times and I think it is perfect for the autumnal weather and going into winter. It's cheap enough to replace if the jumper gets worn or damaged, and it looks great with a range of outfits.
