      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      It's basic.

I picked this up last month in the New Look sale as it was reduced to half price - from £18 to £9 and I can't resist a good bargain! That's the only reason I picked it up to be honest, I am not particullary fond of the design.

The jumper is a basic long sleeved jumper. It has a slightly scooped neck and a picture on the front of a black and white dog (I think it's a chiuaua) wearing blue wide rimmed glasses. The picture isn't a cartoon, it's more of a skecthed-on drawing if that makes sense. It fills a majority of the jumper up but isn't too over the top, it blends into the jumper because of the basic colours. The jumper itself is light grey which makes it quite a versatile jumper - grey goes with anything. The ribbed detailing on the hem and sleeves add a bit of character but apart from that it's basic - the picture isn't cute or funny in my opinion, it's just sort of 'there'.

The fit of the jumper is quite well fitting, it clings to my hips/arms but is slightly baggy on the shoulders, i'm not sure if this is on purpose/the design, or not, but it doesn't look silly and the overall fit is very flattering. I would definetly reccomend getting this in a size bigger if you want it to be a little bit loose because it is quite clingy. The sizes available are 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. I am a size 8 and got a size 10 for a more relaxed fit but it is pretty tight. Saying that though I am pregnant, i'm not showing much however I do think it is clingier around my stomach then it would be if I wasn't pregnant, but either way it's not a loose fitting top.

The top is 95% cotton and 5% nylon. It is very lightweight with a smooth and silky feel to it. It doesn't add much warmth so it'd have to be layered in the winter with a cardi/blazer. It's fine to be washed in the washing machine & washes well - no shrinking/bobbling so far after a month. I wash this at 40 degrees although New Look reccomend washing a 30 degrees to be more 'planet friendly'. New Look do not specify if this is ok to be ironed however I can clarify it is - i've ironed mine a few times and it is fine.

When it comes to matching this with an outfit i'd say it looks best with jeans. If you're after a geeky preppy indie look it'd look alright with a floral skirt or tucked into shorts. It's not ideal to be worn with leggings as it doesn't cover my bum, it's waistline length.

Overall an alright top. I am not keen on the design though and it doesn't keep me warm - I wouldn't of paid full price for it. 3/5 stars.
