      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Good if you like the hole-y look!

Throughout school and during the last two years, been a full time waitress, I always had a uniform to wear and so didn't need that many clothes. However, now that I am in college as well as having an office job, I need a lot of clothes, and being a student, money is tight, and so I am always on the lookout for 'easy-on-the-pocket' buys.

One of my most recent buys was this top which I bought from New Look for £8.99
although it's currently selling in the sale for £5.

      ~ * Looking Good! * ~

I think that the top is very pretty and very summery. The design is quite simple yet very effective. It is the kind of design which you can wear with anything; whether it be with jeans, a skirt, black trousers or shorts; so it is quite versatile in that respect.

The top is very comfortable to wear and the fabric is very soft. The fact that it is made from cotton means that it is nice and cool; great for these summer days.

      ~ * However... * ~
I had only worn my top once; once to college, and once to the office. It was on the second occasion that I noticed a tiny hole in the front of it. I wasn't sure how this had happened as it definetely wasn't there when I put the top on. Throughout the day, more holes began forming; each starting off as tiny ones, which would then get bigger and bigger.

By the afternoon (in work), I was really embarressed walking around the office with my 'holey' top as they were clearly visible, and I felt embarressed that I looked scruffy.

What I didn't understand was the fact that I wasn't in no way 'pulling' the top; all I was doing was sitting at the computer, yet these holes kept forming, which made me think that perhaps the material was faulty.

As I had only worn the top twice, I decided to take it back to New Look. The girl on the counter, was very helpful and said that it must be a fault with the material. She said that I was eligible for a refund; I was in two minds whether to get my money back or exchange it for another top. I really liked the top and as she did say that this was the first complaint she had seen at the shop with this particular top (and they had sold a lot of them!), I decided that perhaps it was just my top that was unlucky and so as I really liked the top, decided to get another one; although all the white ones had sold out, and so I had the brown one, which touch wood, having worn it around four times is hole-free!!

      ~ * Value For Money... * ~

As for value for money, whilst I know that £8.99 isn't that expensive compared to a lot of items in most clothes shops, I do expect to be able to wear an item more than once.

At first, I thought that I would not recommend this top as it is made from poor material. Although, like the girl said, she hadn't seen it happen with this top before, and I also have this top in brown and that is ok, perhaps the top itself is ok and maybe it was just mine that was dodgy!

      Thanks for reading!
