I haven''t bought a great deal of maternity clothes during my pregnancy (I''m currently 39 weeks and hopefully getting towards the end now!) but have splashed out on a few bits and bobs. My favourite items are my (second hand) Mr Bump T-shirts which I got from eBay, but these New Look T-shirts (well, the black and grey ones anyway) are probably my most worn items. I have been quite lucky as having lost weight in the past I did keep quite a lot of my bigger clothes in anticipation (and hope) of a future pregnancy. However, while bigger T-shirts and tops have been useful (especially when worn under a jumper), actual maternity tops have a better fit, especially if you want to show off your bump. They are also a bit longer than normal tops, so you don't have to worry about flashing any flesh! I bought this pack of three tops in Gateshead (our New Look doesn''t do maternity wear - it can be bought online though). There are three tops - one black, one grey and one white, and the pack cost 14.99 - this is more than 3 standard t-shirts in New Look would cost, but for maternity wear they are pretty good value. I started wearing these at about 24 weeks when my bump was getting noticeable, and they fit well with a small bump. As the bump gets bigger they seem to stretch to accommodate it (although without stretching the material, so they should be fine for a future pregnancy if I have one). They are kind of ruffled at the side. I find that maternity clothes are great as you can buy your normal size (in my case a 12, although probably could''ve got away with a 10) rather than feeling like you''ve put on loads of weight. The black and grey tops have been worn loads and wash really well. I either wear them on their own, or with a hoodie over them. The white I don''t wear so much as it''s a bit see-through and you can see the bump band of my New Look maternity jeans if I''m wearing them, and my bra. But I probably would wear it more if it was hotter. I have been really pleased with these tops. Although pregnancy doesn''t last long, I''ve definitely got my money''s worth out of them - I will probably also wear them for a few weeks/months after the baby is born (obviously I won''t be wearing my Mr Bump t-shirts then though!). 4 out of 5 stars from me.
I work in an office where we have to buy our own works clothes, there is no strict dress code, basically as long as we look smart and presentable our boss is happy. Personally I have never really been a shirt person and normally wear smart trousers and a top or jumper of some sort, before I was pregnant I did have a couple of shirts I would wear if my other things were in the wash but obviously now these are no long practical. I decided that I needed to invest in a few more work type tops, I wanted something that i could get away with wearing in the office but also wear with a pair of jeans outside of work. I have tried to spend as little as possible on clothes since being pregnant as I am only going to need them for a short while so I decided to have a quick look on the New Look website. I came across the New Look 3 Pack Maternity Tees, they were reasonably priced, I got 3 tops for this price and they looked ideal to wear both for work and outside of work.
The New Look 3 Pack Maternity Tees are basically a pack of 3 T Shirts, the T shirts in this pack are nothing fancy however they are practical and comfortable. Each T shirt has a rounded neck, now I hate wearing high neck T shirts however I don't want anything too low cut for work, the necks on these T shirts are just right they are low enough for how I personally like to wear my tops but without being too revealing at work. These are short sleeved T shirts with the sleeves sitting just below my shoulders, again these are just the right length, not too short and not too long and baggy. I had visions of wearing my T shirts under a cardigan so I didn't want the sleeves to be too long or too baggy as I find this feels like you have too much material stuffed under your arms, I found with the sleeves on these T shirts they fitted just right, they were tight enough to fit neatly under my cardigan sleeves and also long enough to cover the tops of my arms should I wish to wear them on their own, I find that with T shirts if the sleeves are too small (i.e. cap sleeves) then they do not look smart enough for work and tend to look a bit casual. Each of the T shirts have a slight ruching down each side which are designed to accommodate any size and last throughout your pregnancy.
The T shirts are made from 100% cotton again this made them ideal for both inside work and casual wear, whilst it is cold at the moment I wanted something in a breathable material, it does get quite hot in our office in the afternoons so I didn't want anything that was going to make me hot and sweaty, the T shirts are made from a very thin cotton which was ideal. The fact that the T shirts are made from 100% cotton also makes them easy to wash and keep clean, they can be washed on a 30degree or 40 degree wash, I have tried them on both depending on what else I am washing and have to say they have come out looking as good as new. Wearing the T shirts for work means that they are washed frequently so I really do need something that washes well without falling apart or bobbling, so far neither has happened with the New Look Maternity Tees, they are still in excellent quality and the material has not bobbled at all.
As I have mentioned I bought my 3 Pack of Maternity Tees from the New Look website, I have visited a large New Look store with a maternity department however I did not see these available, the pack of 3 T shirts cost me £14.99 which personally I feel is very good value for money, I had wanted something that was cheap yet versatile and I definitely got that with these. They are certainly worth the money, they are of a good quality, wash well and are suitable for both work and casual wear so I certainly get a lot of wear out of them, I have looked on other websites and the same sort of product as been available for the same price but for just one T shirt, with these you get 3 for that price.
The T shirts come in a range of sizes including sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18, it is important you stick to your regular size when buy maternity clothes otherwise they will fit around your middle but be massive everywhere else. I brought these in my regular size 12 and they fit very well, the sizes are not overly generous which I do find with some New Look products, however these did fit well.
I would definitely recommend the New Look 3 pack Maternity Tees, they are very comfortable to wear, the fabric is extremely soft against your skin, they are quite thin meaning they are breathable and perfect for wearing alone or under another top. If I had one criticism it would be that they only come in one range of colours which includes Black, Grey and White, this is ok as the colours go with literally anything else I wear, however I would have liked to have a few more pretty colours to choose from. I find the White T shirt is a bit see through and I do tend to wear a white vest top under it, however as the material of the T shirt is thin this is not a problem.
The T shirts wash extremely well despite being washed regularly due to wearing them for work. You definitely get 3 good quality tops for a very reasonable price by buying these, this is definitely something I would recommend to anyone looking for this type of product, also as they are quite tight fitting you could probably get away with wearing them generally after having your baby as well, in my opinion these are a maternity must have.
