A cardigan is a staple part of my wardrobe as I find them very versatile and suitable to wear for most occasions. I do like New Look clothes in general as I find that they are well made and quite reasonable, although I do find that the sizes aren't very generous and I have to buy a bigger size than at some other stores.
This long sleeved boyfriend tape knit cardigan cost £12.99 and come in sizes 8 to 18. I am usually a six 16 in tops but I tried a 16 on and it was a bit on the snug size and as I like cardigans to be a comfortable fit so I bought the size 18.
This cardigan is knitted so is quite warm and cosy to wear. I will wear this cardigan with jogging bottoms or leggings in the house on top of a t shirt or vest top and I have also worn it to go out with a pair of jeans which makes it look a bit more dressy. The only times I have had to give it a quick once over with the iron is when I have bought it in from outside and folded it up with it not being completely dry or placed other items on top but any crinkles iron out easily.
The sleeves are a bit on the long side for me but as my arms are on the short side I am used to this and I just turn the cuff over an inch and they fit perfectly. It has two pockets at the front and there is a line of knitted tape which goes from the top of the pocket to just above the chest area which gives it a stylish look.
I have found this cardigan to be hard wearing as I have worn it quite a lot and washed it numerous times and it has not bobbled or gone out of shape. I would definitely buy another one maybe in another colour and recommend it as a warm and smart cardigan which you can wear for any occasion and is good value at £12.99.
'New Look Tape Knit Boyfriend Cardigan'
The first time I wore this cardigan I borrowed it off of a friend because I liked it, it looked comfortable and I did not have one of my own. A week later had had some money spare and jumped at the chance to buy my own.
The 'Tape Knit Boyfriend Cardigan' is available from 'New Look' stores or from their official website (www.newlook.com). I bought mine from a store as it was easier for me at the time, plus I could take it away there and then I did not have to wait for delivery.
I purchased it for £24.99 which is more than I would normally spend on a cardigan, but in my opinion it was worth ever penny. It is available in three different colours 'Black', 'White' and 'Mid-pink', I purchased the pink one as I thought it would help to brighten up some of those dreary winter days.
The 'Tape Knit Boyfriend Cardigan' is very well made it is 100% acrylic which makes it very soft, nice and thick and keeps its shape very well once it has been washed. Length wise it comes down to my thigh area which is perfect for me as I can get all wrapped up to help keep the cold out, although it is long it is not heavy which means it does not weigh me down.
It has a very versatile style to it as well, it can be worn either open or buttoned up (it has 5 chunky buttons down the front) and the two pockets on the front of the garment are deep and secure enough to carry things in. It can be worn with basically anything and will be guaranteed to give that outfit a cosy, 'get out of the cold' kind of look.
Overall I am so glad I purchased the 'Tape Knit Boyfriend Cardigan' for myself, it keeps me warm and it looks god with anything. It is exactly what I have been looking for and in my opinion it was money well spent.
i am a cardigan addict i own a lot of cardigans which majority are very heavy like cable knit cardigans. The reason why i like this cardigan because it is basic and the material feels nice against my skin some materials tend to give me this itchy feeling which is not nice. This cardigan can be worn in autumn , and spring , maybe winter because the material is light weight and not too thick i would not totally recommend it to be worn in winter. This cardigan is nice to wear with a basic top inside like a vest. It is rather pricey £24.99 but because i used my NUS card i got 10% which made me feel better about purchasing it , it is more than i would usually spend on a cardigan but i must say it is quality. As a student myself i find owning cardigans as an easy outfit to wear to my classes , so those who are looking for a cardigan for a basic trendy outfit this cardigan is the one. I must stress that it might feel a bit tight on the arms but after consistent wear it will stretch.
I'm a cardigan addict, and really can't stop myself buying more! I really liked the style and colour of this cardigan when I bought it from the New Look website. It was a little more expensive than cardigans I normally buy (i.e. from Primark etc), but I fancied a bit of a change. It's a little thinner than some of the thicker boyfriend cardigans available at the moment, but great for the summer to wear over a vest for festivals. It's really comfortable to wear, and looks great with a pair of jeans and a vest top. Goes really well with loads of other colours too, so was a great impulse buy. The fit is great, but can be worn oversized too as it has a great boyfriend look. The only disappointment was it does click slightly, so I felt I always had to be careful carrying a bag which had studs on.
Overall, a really stylish cardigan which can be worn in loads of ways x
I'm a bit of a cardigan addict and have got around 20 at the moment, most of which are pretty thick and more meant to be worn during winter, so the main reason i bought this tape knit cardi was because it's lightweight in comparisson with my other cardi's so won't be too warm to wear over a vest in the summer.
The cardi is pretty basic really, the main thing that attracted me to it was the tape knit as it made it that bit more unique, and i also love Newlook clothing so the fact it is a newlook cardi was even better.
The cardigan was £24.99; much more than i'd usually spend on one item of clothing but as i'm a student i get 10 percent off so i told myself it wouldn't be that bad.
There was 4 colours to choose from; white, chocolatey brown, light pink and navy blue. I chose the light pink because of the time of year as i didn't want one that looked dark and heavy.
This is a v neck cardigan and is in the boyfriend cardigan style (long), and comes just below my bum. It has 2 pockets on the front and pretty plastic buttons that match the colour of the cardigan. Above each pocket is the tape knit which goes up to the bust area. The whole cardi isn't tape knit like i would assume from the name but it still looks unique.
The rest of the cardi is a knitted pattern. It's not a cable knit and is really neat and pretty. There is stitch detailing on the neckline and the button strip.
The material is 100% acrylic, so it's nice and soft and also easy to wash in the washing machine. I was a bit concerned that washing it would cause the tape knit to bobble or rip but it was fine. The only downside is it's not very stretchy.
I usually wear mine with jeans, leggings (it's long enough to cover any undesireable lumps) or shorts with a basic top underneath for a casual look, and it can be worn open or buttoned up - it's really versatile. I usually wear mine open because of the warmer weather at the moment. It's also well fitting and not slouchy or unflattering. It's also very true to size; i got a size 8 and it was really snug and figure hugging but not to the point of discomfort.
As i said before it's lightweight. It does keep me warm though when it's buttoned up, and it is easy to put on - no faffing about!
Nice and simple design ideal for casual wear. I can't really imagine wearing this to a dinner party or something like that though!
Overall it's a nice cardi, but to be fair it is pretty overpriced seeing as it's acrylic, as similar quality acrylic cardi's in a similar style can be bought for £6-£15 in primark or cheaper shops.
