I'm one of those people who buy pretty underwear, I don't like the full coverage or what used to be known as 'granny pants', they just don't suit me and I find they are baggy and generally uncomfortable. My main underwear shopping used to be done in places such as La Senza during their sales but about 2 months ago I was browsing around my local New Look store and seen a range of their underwear on offer. I have checked online and there seems to be a bit more choice on the website in terms of styles. There are thongs, lace shorts (french style knickers), shorts, briefs etc. Majority are £2.99 per pair however these are in an offer of 3 for £6 so in essence if you buy 2 you get 1 free. Of course online you have the delivery charge to pay for so instore is the best bet to save some money.
Onto the patterns I found available, in the store as I mentioned there was the above offer on however they also had a sale on and I found 12 various pairs of underwear for just £1 each. This is a fantastic buy considering they should be £3 each! Majority of them were thongs or g-strings and they all had an element of femininity about them. With pretty floral patterns, a lacy cut, both bright and bold and pastel shades were available. Spots and stripes, contrasting colours, classy and sexy or simply just a block of colour, there is something for everyone.
There are a lot of things I particularly like about New Looks underwear selection, not only are they very comfortable to wear, but the stitching does not provide any irritation as I sometimes find on brands that are a bit cheaper than the more upmarket stores with higher prices. Majority of the underwear I have purchased from New Look contains: 85% Nylon 15% Elastane and are machine washable. I have washed all pairs at 30, 40 and a couple at 60 degree's (this was a mistake) but it does not seem to have caused any problems with the quality of the product. There has been no bobbling and the elastic is still in tact. I also have to say that the fit of New Looks underwear is fantastic, I have found that sometimes there can be size discrepancies not only between shops but within ranges of the shops but this is not a problem here at all.
The only problem I have had is, after tumble drying a couple of pairs the elastic has curled into itself. This provides no difference to the comfort level whilst wearing, the only thing it does affect is the look of the underwear in the drawer which, let's be honest is not a problem.
If you do purchase online (or instore) make sure to purchase the correct size as for obvious hygiene reasons, lingerie is non refundable. If purchasing online be aware that a delivery charge is payable unless you have a promotional code. These can be paid for with a New Look store card as well as general payment methods. Another point to note is that with a student discount of 10% (and if purchasing online a Quidco cashback of 7%) there is a lot of money to be had off products bringing the price down even further.
In conclusion these are a fantastic buy, I have around 18 pairs now, some of them have been used more than others and they are all still in perfect condition. I am very happy with my purchases and I will be keeping my eyes peeled for another sale where I can pick these up dirt cheap again. Definately recommended!
I am always stocking up on new underwear and New Look is probably my favourite place to buy it from - it's really cheap, good quality and has a large assortment of styles and colours - they do briefs, frenchies, thongs etc. New Look have had a deal on for a while now which is 3 pairs of thongs/knickers for £6 which works out at £2 per pair of knickers which I think is reasonable. No it's not dirt cheap (you can get a pack of 6 knickers for £1.50 in Primark) but I have found the New Look underwear to be of good quality and it lasts long and unlike cheaper brands it doesn't have messy or loose stitching, nor does it go baggy or shrink in the wash. The underwear can be bought online or instore at your local New Look. I personally shop instore as I find that it sells out in certain sizes quicky online and only the larger sizes are left. You can not return underwear so make sure you buy the correct size and choose a style you like.
There are lots of different designs to choose from as I said before. Some of which include plain, floral, stripey, animal prints etc. Most of the thongs that I own are floral - they're adorable! I also own a couple which are plain, but ruffled around the top which is really cute and a few of them have lace detailing which adds a more lingerie look to them while the floral ones are more cute then sexy. I own around 20 pairs of New Look thongs now and each one looks lovely, the patterns are all neat, pretty and colourful and the sizing is very accurate. I am a size 8 and the size 8 ones fit me like a glove, this is good because alot of cheap underwear can be over elasticated but these aren't at all. They're comfy to wear and unlike alot of other knickers and thongs I have owned in the past the waistband isn't loose or overlly stretchy.
The design of the thong is really simple and they look the same as any other thongs. The thongs are all soft and comfy. A majority of them are made up of nylon and elastane and only a small amount of thongs out of my 20 thongs are partly cotton. Despite this, they are all soft and comfy with a smooth and silky feel.
Sizes available: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18.
Overall I love these, and the offer is great too as it allows you to pick and mix rather than been stuck with 3 pairs that are identical. I wash mine in the washing machine at 30 degrees and they haven't shrunk or bobbled, and i've owned most of these for around 6 months now and they still look good as new. These are a real bargain, I would say they are very similar to Topshop and La Senza underwear which is much more expensive. Reccomended :-)
Recently I needed some new underwear. I decided to try New Look since I had a fashion rewards voucher for there anyway. I decided to buy online rather than shop instore because I didn't have much time to go shopping, and it is really quick and simple to use their website. I have used it a few times now and find it really easy to use, and it is especially quite quick to use since I already have an account there which only takes a couple of seconds to log in to.
The price was very reasonable, there was an offer on which is still on now, actually, it is buy 3 briefs for the price of £5. I think this is good for the high street. Supermarkets probably are cheaper but most shops on the high street have an offer for 3 briefs for £9 so in comparison to them New Look is the cheapest.
The styles on the site were mostly really pretty and I picked out a few I liked in no time. There was lots of choice and I found it really hard to choose so I had to get 6 pairs instead of just 3! But this still came to just £12 which is really not bad, especially when I had a voucher for £3 off, so it cost me just £9 for all six pairs - what a bargain when you compare this to other shops on the high street e.g. Topshop where you would have only got half the amount of items for the same price.
I really love the pretty scatter heart detail on this thong. It is white with little hot pink hearts all over it. It is also ruffled at the edges, well a gathered egde this is called but it looks kind of scrunched up sort of, don't get me wrong its really pretty and a lovely detail in my opinion and adds a nice touch. The edges are also hot pink, as the main colour of the thong is white I think this looks really pretty in contrast. The other detail this has is a little pink bow at the front.
This thong is available to buy in sizes 6-14. I would recommend buying this in a size bigger because the sizes do seem quite small, compared to their bra sizes which are always too big from my experience.
This looks exactly the same in real life as it does in the picture on the website, more so than any of the other briefs I ordered at the same time. It is quite comfortable to wear, as far as thongs go.
Overall I would definitely recommend this item as it lives up to all my expectations. It is £2.99 to buy on its own or £2 if you buy it as part of the 3 for £6 offer which I think is worth taking advantage of as if you need new knickers New Look has a lot of nice choice especially for younger fashion conscious women.
