“ Brand: New Look / Type: Sweater „
When my sister and I received a £50 New Look voucher from our mom at the start of September, the first thing on my mind to buy from there was jumpers for the upcoming cold months. One of purchases was this wide necked navy sweater, which cost £12.99. But was this price a reasonable one for the product I bought?
As you can see you in the picture the sweater is a light blue colour (with the cuffs, the neckline and the hem a darker shade) which appealed to me because it had a 'denim' look about it, although it is also available in light brown and candy pink. It is long sleeved but can easily be pushed up to whatever lengths you want without falling back down again.
The sweater is extremely comfortable to wear, being shaped but not at all tight. The light material is gentle on your skin making it great for days when it's not too cold and you don't fancy a heavy jumper to wear, though it's not insulating enough for those colder nights. Unfortunately the sweater loses marks for quality, as I have washed this jumper quite a few times now and the colour has started fading (currently looks more grey than blue and the darkened bits are even lighter than the rest of the sweater) and the material is bobbing. I admit this might be because the label tells you to wash the jumper inside out but it says this on several other clothes I own and they all end up ok despite this.
Overall I do like wearing this sweater on lazy days or when I just need to throw something on when I go out. However for £12.99 I was expecting a bit better quality from a high street brand, especially compared to the other jumper I bought which is lasting much longer.
Currently it's available in sizes 8, 12, and 14 online, though there might be more sizes available in-store.
