I don't wear a lot of sports clothes unless I am actually exercising as I don't like to go into town with them on. I do own a couple of hoodies though and they are fine for wearing to the supermarket with some jeans or even for just wearing around the house when it is a little bit chilly out.
As I don't wear them very often I would never pay a lot of money for them so I bought a couple from New Look for 14.99 each in black and red.
Even though they are cheap though it doesn't mean that they are cheap looking or feeling. I liked these ones over the thicker more expensive ones as I liked the fact that the material was thinner and they had a more fitted look to them and they actually look a lot smarter with jeans than the thicker pullover ones which to my mind aren't very smart and are more for comfort than anything else.
The hoodies are made from 100 per cent cotton and have contrasting coloured zips and drawstrings around the hood. This just gives them a little extra something instead of being completely plain and boring.
They are a really good fit and I don't have to go up a size from my normal size like I find that I have to do with a lot of sports clothes. This is probably because I do like the more fitted look with the hoodies than some people who like them to be a bit baggier and more slouchy.
The hoodies wash really well. I try and wash all my clothes at 30 degrees and these can be chucked in with everything else and dried in the tumble drier. They don't lose their shape after a couple of washes and they don't shrink either even being dried in the drier (on a low heat setting). They don't run their colour either and keep it for quite a while before fading a little bit.
I quite often wear mine to the gym and to the supermarket and also around the house when it is feeling a little bit chilly but still too warm to put the heating on. I wouldn't wear them much outside the house or the gym but as far as hoodies go they look nice and I personally prefer the look of these ones to the thicker more expensive ones as I think they look a little bit smarter.
I love wearing hoodies, every summer I always buy a few. Last September I wanted a new hoodie to go on holiday with and found this one in new look reduced from £14.99 to £7. I thought it as a bargain even if I just get a few wears out of it. There was a few colours on sales, but I ended up buying a bright pink one.
New look sell these most of the year round, I'm sure I've even seen these in winter. They sell these in lots of different colours from pink, blue, gray, black to red. From sizes 6-18.
The hoodie was quite tight fitting for my normal size, so I did have to buy the next size up so it was a bit more looser, but I suppose it depends on how you like your hoodies. Its quite a thin hoodie, but its suitable to wear on milder days, with just a t-shirt as it does keep you warm. It made out of 100% cotton. It has a nice soft touch feel to it.
There's a zip going up the middle, a hood with a drawn string which is great if you get caught in the rain. The strings on the hood are not too big or small and don't hang down that much either. I have found the hood doesn't go over my head properly, so if it does start raining my hair does normally get wet at the front, but maybe I might just have a big head.
There are two pockets on either side, I tend not to keep a lot in the pockets as they are not that big or have depth to them, i dont really trust having my phone and such in there in case it falls out or I get pick pocketed.
When wearing the hoodie it is quite a long hoodie, although I am tall, this hoodie hangs about half way down my bum, which is great, as I've found some hoodies are too short for me. The hoodie dont cling and I'm able to do different tasks wearing this. Sometimes if my hands are cold, I pull down the sleeves to cover my hands, and this hoodie allows that as the sleeves are quite long, but when wearing it normally, the end of the sleeves are tighter fitted so they wont fall down unless you pull them down.
Since having this hoodie it has not stretched out of shape and still looks in good condition. I have washed this hoodie a few times and there hasn't been any lost shape, stinking or the hoodie going bitty.
This is one of the best hoodies ive bought and I will definitely be buying some more this summer even at full price.
When we has a slightly cold start to our summer, I was forever borrowing one of my husband's hoodies to wear over my outfit around the house to avoid putting the heating on. I have numerous cardigans but they were all too thick or too thin for the purpose and not the most comfortable to wear around the house. In the end, I decided I needed to purchase one of my own that looked a little more feminine (and so that my husband stopped moaning at me when his were all in the wash!).
I had seen them in New Look previously so that was the obvious place for me to head to to start my search. Immediately I saw a whole circular rail loaded with various colours hoodies - from black and grey to more vibrant pinks and blues. I opted for a light grey as this was quite neutral and would go with most things I was likely to wear it with. It cost me £14.99.
The hoodie is made of the same material as you would expect tracksuit bottoms to be made of and the inside has a white fleecy lining so it feels soft on the skin and warm too. It fastens with a white zip all the way up the front and the hood has two thick white strips of material dangling from it (these look like oversized shoelaces!) and these can be pulled to tighten the hood around the face when up (if you so wished!).
I bought this in my usual size and there is plenty of room in it - I can wear comfortably even over thicker tops. It is extremely comfortable and cosy to wear. I wear around the house on cooler days or even to pop to the shops when I don't need a coat. It is not particularly waterproof but can withstand a light shower! The cuffs are elasticated and this has maintained well, even after a fair amount of stretching and washing. Unfortunately, the zip itself has not fared so well in my washing machine and this has now broken. I would say that this broke after about 10 washes and now I can only wear it unzipped which is a shame. This is likely to be a one off fluke breakage but worth mentioning none-the-less. Zip aside, I am pleased with the quality of this item and it is very comfortable to wear.
WHAT IS IT?
A zip up hooded jacket from New Look, there are at least 3 colours available and I have got one that is pale blue.
This jacket fits to my hips and has got a zip up front that goes all the way to my chin. The hood is not over sized and it is the right size to slip over my head if I go out and the weather is a little bit cold or raining slightly, the inside of this hooded jacket is a bit furry and that helps to keep me warm if I put it on over a vest top when I am sitting outside and start to feel cold. The outside is not furry and feels like soft cotton.
WHAT I THINK
This hooded jacket is my favourite because it is versatile and I can wear it with a lot of my other clothes. It is very casual and I would not wear it if I was going out at night but I like to wear it in the day or if I am going shopping in the evening when the sun has gone in. The light blue colour makes it look nice with skinny jeans but I do not like to wear it with looser jeans because it makes me look like I am heavier, there is not very much shaping to this jacket.
I wear it with my gym clothes also and think it looks very much like a tracksuit top when worn with exercise pants. I have got it in a size 12 because I am a size 10 but I like this sort of garment to be loose on my body. I think I could have ordered the jacket in size 10 though because this one feels like it is a little bit too big on my shoulders and body, the hem also does not feel as tight as it should when it is zipped up.
I am going to buy another one of these jackets in a different colour because I like the style, I think it would look nice in white and that would be versatile also. I have washed my jacket a few times and I dry it always in the tumble dryer but it is still the same shape and size as when I bought it, I wash it on a cool wash only because it does not ever get dirty and needs washing to freshen it up.
This zip up hooded jacket costs £15 in New Look and I think that is value because it is high quality and looks good as a part of a casual outfit.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
Although my current workplace has a uniform unfortunately if you are anything other than a medium
or large size guy you can be pretty sure that none of it will even vaguely fit. As a skinny size 10 female
most of the polo tops look like I've borrowed them from the local rugby team and the jacket has plenty
of room to fit me and a party for a few close friends.
As I have no choice but to wear the polo top I tend to wear a hoody or fleece over it in the colder
months instead of the huge company branded jacket but I have to stick to plain colours and minimum
branding to keep the management happy. After wrecking several expensive hooded tops I decided
to buy a few cheap ones for work.
The New Look hooded tops come in several different colours including navy, khaki, pink, royal blue,
deep red, grey, mint green, bottle green,, turquoise and Coral and cost £14.99 each from New Look stores or online at newlook.com. I ended up buying 3 of these over the last couple of months so
now own a deep red, a royal blue and a navy one.
The New Look hooded tops are zip through jacket style with a white zip and white drawstring ties
at the neck for tightening the hood. The tops are made from 100% cotton and have a stretchy
ribbed band at the bottom of the jacket and stretchy material is used for the cuffs.
The material isn't as thick or as warm as some of the hooded tops I've owned but they are warm
enough to wear over a top in spring or autumn and light enough to wear under a jacket in winter
as they aren't too bulky. Although the tops aren't really fitted they do have a slim fit so you don't
look completely shapeless or look like you've borrowed a hoody from your boyfriend or hubby.
I wear these regularly for work but they are also great for casual wear or throwing on after a
run or a swim. So far the tops have lasted well although because they are cotton the two darker
colours have faded slightly due to being constantly washed and tumble dried but they still look
pretty good and there's no sign of fraying or any stitching coming undone.
Overall I'm really pleased with these New Look hooded tops and at the current price of £14.99
they're a bargain.
Just before Christmas my mate went out and got herself a zip up hoodie and it looked really nice on her and I really wanted one. Close up though you could see how cheaply made it was and sadly and soon after her buying it it started to fray and fall apart much to her disgust but it did only cost a tenner and she knew it probably wouldn't have a long life!
I however spotted this one and it was identical to hers and only cost me £14.99 in New Look which I was really pleased about as the quality and feel of it was great and I couldn't believe the quality difference for just under a fiver more that I got than my mates!
This hoodie is currently available to buy in blue, navy, wedgewood blue, deep red, mid pink, bright pink, charcoal, light blue, bottle green , grey, kharki, coral and mint green (mine is the mint colour) and you can also get these in petite fit as well as the regular which is what I bought.
They are all available in sizes 6-18 and I bought this hoodie in my usual size and found it to be very generous in size too which means I can layer up a bit under this should I want to.
This is made from 100% cotton and is easy to care for and is fully machine washable, tumble dry and ironing safe. Its a soft fabric but quite thick and feels really good quality.
This hoodie I really like. My colour is a lovely light mint green with a contrasting and easy to use white zip to the middle front of it, the hood is a generous size but comes with again a contrast white drawstring to each side of it ensuring I can get a good fit and secure it that way and then to the front of it there is a kangaroo style looking pocket when its done up but is actually two rather deep pockets that I can pop my hands in and a few little bits and bobs. The waist is slightly elasticated as are the wristbands of it though you can turn them over if you want to.
This is quite simple a really nice casual hoodie that is great quality. Its keeps me snug and warm and I love the long length of it covering my bottom and I wear this around and about and to the gym and so on. The only issue with this is the open ended pockets that you do have to watch or things to fall out of them but other than that this is easy to wash and wear and I actually am going to get another couple of these asap in other colours as I like them so much!
Only available from New Look and with a big thumbs up from me!

As somebody who wears a uniform to work every day, i enjoy nothing more than coming home and night and getting changed into comfortable clothing that i can slouch in front of the television in for the rest of the night. I never want to wear anything too dressy or good for just a few hours and tend to change into joggies and a hoody top.
I purchased this hoody in black first of all as at £15 it offered a basic little top to pull on each night. For the money, i did not expect it to last particularly long or wash particularly well but i have been very pleasantly surprised by this purchase. The top is plain with two pockets and a zip and comes in a variety of colours. I now own it in black and grey and may return to buy the blue one soon. I have washed these tops several times and they hold their shape and colour well. They are cosy with good length sleeves and go with a variety of t-shirts or tops underneath. They are not particularly dressy but offer something very basic to lounge around in, which is all i am after.
If you are looking for something cheap and cosy which will stand the test of time, then this little hoody might just be perfect for you too.
I wear hoodies all the time, I think I have more of them than my fiancé does!
I bought a couple of new ones last year during the winter because I wanted some brighter coloured ones, because most of the ones that I had at the time were grey, black or some other bland and boring colour.
I bought a pink, light blue and red one from new look and they were £15 each which is about average for a hoodie, I wanted to buy another American apparel one but because they're so expensive I decided against it and the new look ones were the ones that looked most similar.
I will be reviewing the pink hoodie because this is the 1 that I wear most, but most of what I say about it will of course apply to the other colours too. Even though I only have three of the different colours there is 11 in total to choose from including the more boring and bland grey, dark green, black etc.
These are women's hoodies, but there are also some men's ones which are practically identical in design. The hoodie is very basic and simple, the zip trail on each one is white and so are the draw strings.
The draw strings are just the right thickness - not too thin, not too thick although they're not quite as thin as the American apparel hoodie draw strings which gives it away that theyre a cheaper brand but never mind.
The hood is a bit on the small side, I'd says have an average sized head and it is quite tight around my head but not too tight, I don't wear the hood up often anyway. The zip moves up and down the trail freely, never getting stuck or anything.
The hoodie is well fitting, and I wish I had got the next size up because I prefer baggy hoodies, but then again the fit isn't uncomfortably tight or anything and I feel comfortable in it. The inside isn't fleecey or anything, just normal material and the hoodie is 100% cotton.
The 2 pockets on either side on the front of the hoodie aren't very deep so I can't put bigger objects in them like my iPod or phone or purse, but they can hold loose change and tissues and small bits and bobs.
The hoodie keeps me warm but it of course needs layering, a t shirt underneath is enough as long as I'm inside and if I'm going out I will wear a gilet over it or my parka, or I will just wear a thick jumper underneath it. It is hard to wear thick jumpers underneath though because it makes me look quite bulky, so i try to avoid doing that!
The sizes are 6 to 18 and there's also a plus size version (aka the inspire range). I really like the new look zip up hoodies as they're nicely designed, a good price, keep my warm, wash well and are in fashion. I definitely recommend them.
I spent my time searching high and low for something cosy to wear in the house when its a bit colder, and I noticed the fashion seemed to be zip up hoodies. I have the normal jumper type hoodies but when you get too hot taking them off just messes your hair up or leaves you in a tangle.
New Look is a well known British brand founded in 1969 predominantly known for its youthful approach to fashion. I have bought this brand for many years and know that the clothes are generally well made and will last the time required, usually about 2 years then I get bored of them.
This particular hoodies caught my eye at £9.99 being much cheaper than Bench which is where I ususally buy my hoodies. Its is 100% cotton being breathable and comfortable with a plastic zip up the full front. There is a joey pocket at the front split into two as the jacket is zip up and lace through the hood so it can be tightened or tied if required. I bought the hoodie in black as I have red jeans so did not want to clash, the only problem with black as a colour is that it shows every bit of fluff and dust you come into contact with.
The hoodie is not very stretchy so I bought a size 12 as I would wear it over clothes. I find New Look are normally correct with their sizings and do not have a problem with their clothes. The hoodies are available in sizes 6-18 allowing a wide range of customers to buy one. The length is fine coming to my mid bum (Im 5'4") and I find this does not restrict me when reaching up.
I wash the hoodie at 30 degrees with other dark items and it cannot be tumble dried.
I bought the hoodie for £9.99 but there are often various offers on at New Look.
I had a lack of jumpers for work and wanted a zip up hoodie or something like that. I love the Superdry hoodie's but I didn't really want to spend £30 on one hoodie for work when it would probably get slightly dirty and dusty. I was browsing the New Look website and saw that they had some of the hoodie's on offer. Due to the offer I decided to purchase a few of the hoodie's for work.

The hoodie is made from 100% cotton and has a white plastic zip from top to bottom of the hoodie. It also has a drawstring to enable you to tighten the hood around your face if you decide to wear it up. The front of the hoodie features a front pocket on either side of the zip. I purchase the hoodie in Deep Red, Bottle Green, Grey and Navy. I always tend to wear black or white colours so I decided to go for a few different colours. I would be wearing them with jeans to work so any of these colours would look fine. The hoodie is made from cotton so doesn't stretch much but is soft. The inside of the hoodie feels very soft and feels slightly fleeced like, although it's not. I am normally a size 8 in tops so I decided to purchase a size 10 top which would enable me to wear a vest of t-shirt underneath the hoodie to keep me warm. The hoodies are how-ever available in sizes 6-18. The hoodie fits perfectly and isn't too baggy or too tight. The length of the hoodie is slightly longer than I expected, how-ever this isn't a bad thing. The length of the hoodie comes just under my hips which is a nice length as it doesn't ride up whilst wearing it. There is plenty of room to move around when wearing the hoodie without it feeling too tight or restricted under the arm area. The sleeves to the hoodie are long but aren't too long that they get in the way when using my hands. The ends of the sleeves are slightly tighter but not too tight and they are comfortable. I haven't worn the hoodie with the hood up so I haven't needed to pull the draw strings to make the hood fit tighter around my head. The first few times wearing the hoodie some of the coloured fluff from the inside of the jumper did stick to my underarms a little, how-ever it didn't stain any of my clothes and I happened to be wearing a white vest top. On the label it states to wash the hoodie inside out with similar colours. The top cannot be tumble dried and must be left to dry on a line of radiator. I have washed a few of the hoodies a few times and they always wash perfectly and don't shrink in the wash if washed correctly. The colours, particularly the Deep Red and Bottle Green still look as good as they did when I first purchased them and they haven't faded at all.
= = = = = = = =
The hoodies are priced at £14.99 each but some of the hoodies are currently on offer for 2 for £25, this does only include certain colours but you can choose from 11 different ones.

I am very pleased with the quality of the hoodie and the fit and style of the hoodie. I haven't yet come across any problems with the hoodie or the quality of it and it washes very well every time I have washed it. In terms of value I think the hoodie is brilliant value at £14.99 or even better if you purchase 2 of the hoodies for £25. I have 4 of the hoodies in total and I am really glad I purchased them. I have recently noticed that they have added more hoodies to the range; how-ever the new ones are not 2 for £25 but are £14.99 each. I would definitely consider purchasing some more or these hoodies as they look great with jeans and I expect them to last a good amount of time. I am glad I purchased the hoodies on offer rather than spending £30-£40 on a Superdry hoodie.
