black bootcut smart trousers by Next

When at work I always like to look smart but I always want to make sure what I am wearing is comfortable at the same time. I was needing quite a few pairs of trousers for work and I had tried quite a few shops but wasn't having much luck which is when I decided that Next might be a good place to try. I went into my local Next and at first didn't see many things but then I came across all of the office clothing and there was actually quite a good range. I was most impressed but the different styles of trousers and colours, I knew I wanted black and when I picked up this pair of bootcut trousers, they seemed like the right style for me.

These are quite a typical pair of black trousers, they are sold in sizes 6 up to 22 and the options are for Long or Regular leg and they do a petite and tall range for this trouser style too which is great. I ended up going up a size for these trousers as my usual size felt a little bit tighter. These are nice in the sense that they have a small bit which goes over and hooks closed as a bit of style to the waistband. These are only done in the colour black and the size 6R-26R fits an inside leg of 29" but I got the regular and found they fit ok and I'm sure my leg is longer than this as the 8L-22L fits an inside leg of 31" which is usually my leg length.

So, these trousers I picked up in my usual size and a size up but when I tried on the 10 I found it a bit tighter, the 12 gave me a little bit more room to move and I liked that especially in the summer you don't want to feel uncomfortable. The bootcut style is also flattering on these and a bit of a looser fit which is quite nice, the material is really light to wear and these flatter my figure which is more of an hour glass shape. They zip to fasten and have a fastening strip at the waistband too, these are easy to get on and the leg length on the regular is perfect on me and they are just the right length to wear with flats and don't drag on the floor.

I was excited to wear my new trousers to work as it has taken me a while to get a nice pair of black trousers. I did find though that the more I wore these, the trousers started to feel quite loose on and the annoying thing with these is that they have no belt loops so it would be no use to even put a belt on as it would just slip. It is annoying because I always have to pull these up when I wear them but yet the 10 was really tight on, I just can't seem to have any luck with a correct fit on trousers. They are comfortable on otherwise and the material lets my skin breathe and actually feels fine on for the whole day, just light weight.

When it comes to washing these trousers, they are easy to wash, I just put them on the cycle instructed on the care label and these are ok when they are washed. I always hang them up and they dry fine, the hem seems to flop about but if you make sure to tuck it back under where it has been pressed, then it will be fine. These dry quite quickly which is good and sometimes they may be slightly creased but it's nothing an iron won't be able to get out and other than that these come up good. The material doesn't look worn and I wash these quite regularly, they haven't shrunk either and they always look as good as new.

In terms of other pairs of trousers that I have purchased, these are really good quality but the fit is not precise on these. They wash up well and the material is good and for what I paid they are a nice style. I would recommend these to anyone looking for smart trousers but I'd say try them on in store first instead of ordering them from the website as you will need to try them for the fit and leg length. Next are a good quality company and I would go back and buy more trousers from them, except this time I'd make sure they had belt loops on them. There aren't really any other complaints I have about them, I'd say they were good trousers other than that.

These are available to purchase online and in store, they cost £25 for all sizes which to me is quite a reasonable amount for a pair of work trousers that will last me.
