“ Manufacturer: Reebok / Type: Hat „
Reebok is a British sportswear company currently owned by Adidas. Founded in the late 1890s, it has since gone on to become a sportswear giant until Adidas took it over in 2006, but has still maintained its exclusive manufacturing for all National Football League (NFL) goods and Major Baseball League (MBL) shoes out in the United States.
This cap came as one of many Reebok released for the Oakland Raiders (a team with a popular apparel line since the late eighties with its signature Black/Silver colour scheme), is part of a range that came only in Gold and Black colours. I've only seen this style done for both this NFL team and for the Pittsburgh Steelers (but in Gold instead of black). The Raiders cap has pinstriped front panels with a 'NFL' silver strip running diagonally along it and then a silver under-visor to the brim.
I bought that hat as an extra random addition to my cap collection. Picking it up for just under £10, I saw it as a bargain (not that I needed another black cap). I bought the cap back in 2008 in spite of the fact that I had not prior experience with any Reebok 'fitted' (meaning non-adjustable) caps and so wasn't really sure what their sizes of S, M, L and XL would actually fit like. Knowing that I'm a smaller than average size (but not a really small one), I went for Medium. When it came I found that it was slightly smaller than expected and so I was glad that I hadn't gone for anything any smaller than that when deciding.
I was able to make the hat work straight after my hair had been cut and so it wasn't completely a waste of money. When buying these hats from Reebok you need to either find out exactly how large each size is or go for a hat size bigger than you typically would in order to get it to fit correctly. It's not a hat I tend to wear anymore, with so many other black ones I have, but every now and again its one I like to turn to.
The hat itself was quite a durable thing. When compared to the New Era counterparts, these hats look much small in size and their compact shape means that they're easy to manage and store how you wish. I found that the hat appeared to take on general day-to-day wear well without ever appear to struggle. The only sign of it being worn over the time when it saw the most action was on the silver under-visor where it just got dirty and it seemed that there was little you could do to change this as the occasional wash wouldn't really make it look much fresher.
==Where To Buy==
As far as I'm aware you can't get this specific hat anymore, however you'll always be able to find a Oakland Raiders fitted cap somewhere as in spite of how successful they are as an American Football team, they're apparel is amongst the most popular since the late eighties when N.W.A. and other West Coast Rap crew worn their caps and jerseys from when the Raiders franchise was based in LA.
