      REISS DRESS

I love the styling of many of the Reiss dresses because they tend to be quite classy and the winter styles often have sleeves so I can keepwarm!

This is my most recent purchase, bought for the festive season; available in black or mink I hummed and hahed about the colour but in the end was my usual dull self and opted for yet another black dress.

The dress itself is a figure hugging style, and because of the elastane it really is a great fit, and seems to mould to me without being revealing. The sleeves are ¾ length and are more sheer than the body part because they have only the top layer rather than a lining and then a top layer. This makes it look almost like strips of ribbon interspersed with sheer material. The neckline is slashed but not so much that it falls off my shoulders but rather is a very flattering cut and because it's quite high, I don't need any further adornments if I want a more plain look. However, depending on my shoes, I can team it successfully with gold or silver jewellery but not too big ott because the dress while being black is quite detailed.

The body part of the dress has a lining and over the top is a layer which is mesh and interspersed with assymetrical ribbon effect design. This design crosses diagonally across the top half and then changes direction before going straight down at the bottom. This I think is a very effective design which makes what could have been yet another black dress in my wardrobe into something with a bit more interest. It fastens via a side zip which makes for a great fit.

It is 102CM in length and for me at 5'5" it sits on my knees or just below depending on how much walking I have done. On the subject of walking its not so tight that I have to take teeny steps but is very easy to walk in.

To care for the dress it should be cool hand washed and should not be dry cleaned, tumble dried or ironed. Great news because it really does work. I simply wash and hang the dress and simply leave it to dry

It is made up of 100% polyester with the Lining composition being 96% polyester and 4% elastane.

The RRP is £179 but I managed to buy it in the sale for half this price, which for a good quality dress isn't too bad.

      MY THOUGHTS...

I bought this a few weeks ago and have worn and washed it a couple of times. It is easy to care for and really doesn't need any ironing, and I imagine that it will keep its shape even after lots more use. The dress is one of those which can be made to look very dressy or more casual depending on what accessories are worn with it. I have done the all black look with black shoes and also teamed it with metallic shoes and jewellery and it did look very different. It would also I think look good teamed with brighter colours.

A classic and elegant dress which I know I will wear and wear.

      Thanks for reading

      Daniela xx
