A lovely gem of a jumper that is incredibly wearable and understated, comfy and good quality

...I would live in this one!

The Reiss Ruby jumper is my star item of this year's Spring / Summer clothing ranges. I first saw it folded on a table in the Reiss store, and was struck by its powder blue colour (also available in slate grey and salmon pink) which looks amazing with denims, as well as greys, blacks, beiges and many more.

      The fabric:
The jumper is made from 100% cotton knitted fabric, which has an appealing bobbly texture. It is very comfortable to wear - the cotton keeps it breathable, and yet the relatively close weave of the fabric insulates against the British spring / summer weather which can be variable! It is hand washable, but I tend to use a getle (woolmark) machine wash as I do for most handwash items and it has always come out fine. I imagine that if machine washed on a standard cycle the shape would stretch and become mis-shapen but this has never happened to me on the gentle cycles.

      The fit:
The jumper is fitted but skims rather than clings. I purchased the XS size - my usual in Reiss - and it fits great. It can be worn over t-shirts or vests, or alone, and the neckline is a classic crew that scoops softly down without being a cleavage-revealer. The length is mid hip on me - definitely not too short, and it doesn't ride up when worn.

      The style:
The jumper is firmly in the casual bracket. It is fashionable yet classic - I will be wearing it for several years, updated each season with accessories. It is very wearable, and good for different ages and styles. It can be worn with jeans, or smarter trousers or skirts - for example I often wear it with a blue printed maxi skirt and brown ankle boots for a smart / casual / boho look.

Overall, I would highly recommend this jumper if you want an easy-to-wear cotton knit that is ckassic yet modern, and I will be looking to buy another colour in the summer sale. At £69 it was not cheap, but has been worn loads already so I do believe it is good value.
