      It's all about the 60's!

If you are a keen follower of fashion you may have noticed the trend at the moment seems to be focused around the 60's decade and I am absolutely loving it! I love when an old vintage looks make a come back, I always find it quite amusing that something we find so beautiful to wear now would have been laughed out of the shops had it been released earlier when the style wasn't in fashion!

My favourite fashion site is ASOS and it is very rare that I cannot find something to wear on the site, but ASOS became that little bit more perfect when it started selling clothing by popular high street retailers too - such as River Island. For me this has definetely made it the "go to" fashion site where you can find pretty much everything.

I do like River Island's clothes but they are quite expensive and to be honest I can't really afford to regularly buy their stuff at full price. When this 60's style dress by River Island first came onto the site, I immediately fell in love with it. It was the new glamorous 60's style down to a T. But at the full price of £44.99 it was a little bit out of my price range at the time, so I waited in hope that the price would be marked down in a future sale. Thankfully it was and I'm so glad I waited as I managed to get it for £21 (it has now been further reduced to £17!)

Since Dooyoo don't have a photo, I will describe the dress as best as I can to you. The dress is what I would describe as Pinafore style with a cross over back and little cut out sides, it's a design that I think is really cute, girly and stylish. It has an all over floral print with blends of Pink, Blue, Grey, White & a tad Green - it fits the 60's image perfectly! It is a short mini dress, but not so short that I would call it a Micro Mini, it is just the right length for me.

If you look at the photo on the ASOS site the colours do look a lot lighter than they actually are, the colours are a bit darker than that and to be honest I would have preferred them to be lighter, but I still love this dress. The waist band of the dress is fitted which gives me a nice shape and the skirt of the dress has 2 little pockets with button detailing on it which again look really cute. The cross back also has button detailing which looks equally gorgeous.

The dress is a pure Cotton finish which feels quite heavy rather than thin and flimsy which I like as it gives it added quality. I was a little bit paranoid about the cut out sides, I'm a Size 12 and I kept thinking that the flesh that was poking out of the cut out sides made me look fat. I'm sure the cut out style is stunning on a skinny girl but I did feel a bit self-conscious about it with my body.

I wore this dress with wedge sandals which completed the look perfectly, I've also worn it with flip flops which looks nice too. The dress is available from Size 6 up to Size 18 and it is still on the ASOS site for the bargain reduced price of £17 so grab yourself a 60's stunner!
