“ River Island / jumper. „
As River Island is the first shop I come to when visiting my local mall, I can't help but have a snoop inside - I nearly always buy something. As winter is fast approaching, all of my t-shirts and summer clothes are being replaced with jumpers and hoodies.
This jumper caught my eye because of the colour originally, I have always wanted a beige/brown jumper but struggled to find one in a nice style and fit. There is a cable knit design which is perfect for autumn/winter. The single pearl attached to each of the side pockets is simple but gives a nice feminine touch. The sleeves are full length and the top comes mid-thigh on me - so it is more like a dress. It is quite figure hugging and cosy which I love.
The only problem that I can find with the jumper is that the label says you cannot wash it in the machine. The instructions say to hand wash and dry straight (so hanging from an airer or washing line).
To style this product, I wear jeans or leggings with it. My friend has the same one that she wears with just opaque tights, but she is quite small. On taller people this would be risky as it may not cover everything. You could probably style this with a number of different trouser options but I prefer to play it safe. I have to admit, I have only worn this jumper on days where I can't be bothered to dress up, its a nice casual option which is comfortable.
I am yet to wash mine as it has only been worn twice, so I cannot review on whether it washes well or bobbles easily. I will update this review when I have done so.
The jumper costs £35 and can be brought from inside a River Island store or online (www.riverisland.com). I brought mine from store but they did not have many left, so its probably best to go online. It comes in sizes 6-18 and will fit beautifully.
I love jumpers and i'm always buying new ones - i'm a bit of an addict if i'm honest!
My cousin passed on some clothes just after christmas and they were all River Island ones and i was suprised at how much i liked the style of them all, so i decided to check out the River Island website and came across this. It was reduced from £35 to £18 so i snapped it up!
The jumper is a cable knit design which was really in season at the time i bought it, it's an oatmeal/beige colour and is a very feminine jumper - it shows off my curves and is well fitting - it's not a boyfriend jumper in the sense of bagginess, but because of the length i suppose it is classed as one. This top comes mid-thigh on me so it does make it an ideal top to wear with leggings and i usually wear it with my knitted leggings (in the colder weather.) Unlike most cable knit jumpers it isn't stiff or heavy which is great.
The jumper has a scoop neckline which is pretty high so does not show cleaveage. As it's a jumper it obviously has long sleeves which are just the right length.
The jumper is cosey, soft and warm. It is made from 5% Angora, 45% Viscose, 40% Nylon, and 10% Wool. It's not that thick and is pretty lightweight in comparisson to my other cable knits however if worn over a vest it does really keep me warm and snug. I have not had any problems with the material irritating my skin or anything like that as it's a nice and smooth, soft jumper which feels nice on my skin.
The little pearls on each pocket are really adoreable and add a lovely vintage granny chic look to the whole thing, at first i was worried they'd be tacky and fall off but they've stayed on with no issues and don't look cheap or tacky.
Unfortunetly River Island do not sell this top online anymore however i'm pretty sure that the top is still available instore. Sizes available are 6-18. I got an 8 and although i am a size 8 it was a bit clingy at first but has since loosened off a bit after a couple of washes. It's fine to go in the washing machine and i've washed mine lots and have not experienced any bobbling or fading.
Overall i love this top and it's ideal for pretty much any season as it's lightweight, looks good and is comfy.
I always tend to keep an eye out for long tops and jumpers, as I wear leggings most of the time. I saw this in River Island and thought it look very warm and such a lovely design.
The jumper is made from 5% Angora, 40% Nylon (polyamide), 45% Viscose and 10% Wool. It also says on the label that you are not supposed to machine wash this, you are meant to hand wash it only and dry it flat. Its a lovely beige colour, with a cable knit design, with one single little pearl attached to each pocket. It has full length sleeves, so will keep you warm. The deign is quite simple, but the detail is gorgeous.
I absolutely love this jumper as it is quite warm, so you can wear it in winter and not have to worry about getting cold. I tend to wear this with leggings, as it covers my bum, its quite fitting on me and very snug, so shows my curves off very nicely. Its really comfortable and doesn't irritate my skin if I don't wear a top underneath, which is lovely.
I bought this jumper/top for £35 in store and It comes in sizes 6-18. I don't think its available online any more as I did buy it in October last year, but I thought I would review it anyway as I really liked the jumper and has lasted me extremely well. I think that its a good price, for the quality of the product and has lasted me very well.
Overall a very cute, beautifully designed jumper/top for a good price.
I bought this top from River Island recently. What first attracted me to it is that I thought it looked quite warm and cosy for the cold winter months. I also liked the colour, I know it is quite a safe, some would possibly say dull shade, but I think it is really pretty. I also liked the cable stitching at the front.
I didn't notice them at first glance but when I looked a bit closer I definitely fell in love with the pockets and the pearls that are stuck onto them. I think they look quite girly and add a nice, subtle little detail.
The materials that this jumper is made from are: 5% Angora, 40% Nylon (polyamide), 45% Viscose and 10% Wool. It says on the label that you are not supposed to machine wash this, and you are meant to hand wash it only and dry it flat. You are also not meant to dry clean it either.
Even though it does advise this on the label I have actually machine washed it already, and ironed it, as I didn't look at the label until just now. And the jumper doesn't look any different, I do feel a bit wary about machine washing it again though just in case.
The price for this top/jumper (it is called a top in the name but I wear it more as a jumper) is £34.99. It was originally available on the website in sizes 6-18 but as it has now sold out in three sizes it is now only available in sizes 12-18. Although I am a size 8 I bought this in a size 12 because I like all my jumpers to be a bit baggy, especially coming up to winter, for extra warmth.
I normally wear this with a plain basic vest underneath. You could wear it on its own, I suppose, but I prefer it with a top under it otherwise it becomes a tiny bit itchy sometimes and also I find its best to build up the layers as thats what helps keep you warmer in the winter. I really like the style of the top and feel good and comfortable wearing this, which is the only thing that really matters.
Overall I would definitely recommend this top. I am glad I bought it, and a happy customer once again with River Island :)
