I don't know that I will ever think of Sainsburys as being a good value place to shop. However, it's our new local, and so I go there when I have to. Two cases in point: 1) I needed shorts, and quick, for the basketball club at school. 2: My belt snapped the other day and I needed a new one. For these (and other) emergencies, Sainsburys is my first port of call.

It seems the Sainsbury's own range has been developing nicely into a good selection, and I was impressed with what they had to offer. They have a good couple of hundred items available. It seems they have everything you would need, but only a small selection. Thus, for men, they have suits, shirts, ties, belts, shorts, t-shirts, polo shirts etc, but maybe 6 or 8 different types of each. This means you are fairly limited in your choice, but there is at least something to try.

Size-wise, they have a large range and plenty of stock in each one, which is ideal.

Price-wise, it's just above what I am used to paying at Matalan or Asda. A shirt may be £9 rather than £6, and the belt I bought was £7 when it would have been £5 at Matalan. This isn't a terrible price jump, but don't shop here for value, that's for sure.

The quality of the clothing is good; I've never had anything break or need returning, so you can rely on the quality.

The staff are great, and there are even changing rooms, which is pretty good for a supermarket.

All in all, the small range and slightly inflated prices mean it's something to peruse when shopping or caught in a fix, but don't do your main clothes shopping here.
