Nice bras but not for all day wear

I haven't had a great deal of money to spend on 'luxuries' recently so when it came to buying some nice new underwear the usual suspects of Ann Summers and La Senza were not an option. After looking through the Very catalogue for what seemed like forever I came across these Lace Overlay bras from Sorbet Boutique and thought 2 for £20 was pretty reasonable for what looked like nice bras.

They come as a pack of 2 with one black/red and one black/nude. The design is the same on both, it's just the colour that's different. They are a lightly padded underwired style with lace overlay on the cups and a section of lace above the cups. They do look very stylish and the red one especially is very sexy. The above picture isn't great, they actually look a lot nicer in reality, and I think the one pictured looks slightly different to mine because it's a bigger size.

They come in sizes 32b through to 40e which is not that big a range really but still the majority of people should fit into that range. Now my size can vary a great deal from shop to shop but I generally find I'm either a 34c or 34b so I ordered both those sizes to try. I found the 34b was a perfect fit so I would say the sizes here are a little on the larger side as normally I'm somewhere between the b and c so neither fits perfectly. The 34c was a slightly different design with thicker straps and a triple fastener at the back which surprised me as it's not normally until you get up to the bigger sizes that the style starts to change to accommodate.

These feel really comfy when I first put them on and on the cup side they remain that way all day. The underwires don't dig in or cause any problems and I never feel as though I'm going to fall out of the cups. The back of bra is another story altogether though. The edges of the back feel really uncomfortable and as the day wears on I get more and more sore from them. This is not from the bra being too tight or digging in, but from the material being too rough and rubbing. I thought it might get better after a few washes but it hasn't so these have pretty much become bedroom-only bras now.

The bras are supposed to be handwashed as are most lingerie items, but I must admit I usually just chuck most of mine, with the exception of really special ones, in with my normal washing and usually they come out fine. These don't machine wash well though, they don't keep their shape well and they started to look a bit fatty after the first wash, so I'd recommend handwashing these.

All in all I do think these are nice bras for the money. My boyfriend loves them and if you're not going to be wearing them all day they're great
