I'm not a big fan of Republic, but one of my best friends works there and told me they had some of these in stock. I'd been looking for a bandeau that was patterned and not just plain (harder to find than you'd think!) so i asked her to pick me one up as i was scared they'd sell out quickly as this type of print right now (the american flag) is extremely popular this season after Topshop brought out a pair of denim flag american hotpants and i couldn't make it into town that day to get it myself. My friend got me one and she gets money off due to working there so instead of been £7.99 it was £7.50, not much of a price drop but a nice little saving never the less! I think Republic also do money off for student's but i'm not sure as, as i said before i rarely shop there as i find there fashion slightly young-teenager ish. The top was well worth £7.50 and i'd of happily paid the full price, lol. It's just like a basic bandeau however is more exaggurating around the bust as it goes in a little more than a basic one. It's elasticated hugely which i wasn't keen on as i prefer them to feel a bit stretched when i'm wearing them as it makes my boobs look a bit bigger (lol), however it was much more comfy than the less stretchy bandeaus. Although it's not as tight, it does cling to my body well and fits securely, ensuring there are no indecent exposures during my outings while wearing it. It copes fine with chicken filletts but because the material isn't the thickest, outlines do show, however a strapless bra is slightly better as they tend to be a softer material so shouldn't have as prominant edges. The design of the bandeau is hugely in season and it's recognised as a vintage type pattern as it was popular back in the 80's/90's aswell. It's a dark blue on the left of the top with white stars and the rest is white with faded red stripes which i love, the effect of the fading makes it look really shabby chic and unique. It is a strapless top like all bandeaus and comes around (estimate!) 3/4 inches below my boobs so shows my stomach. It's easy to pull on and once on it easily adjustable because of the stretchiness. I would reccomend wearing a strapless bra underneath just incase of any incidents, i've had one occasion of stupid teenage boys pulling my other bandeau down in town thinking i had nothing on underneath it (luckily i did!), but i'd advise you to wear something under it just incase, obviously that situation was rare however it's not the most reliable top to stay up and does recquire quite a bit of adjusting to ensure it's posistioned so it can't budge too much. The top is lovely and soft but the material is pretty thin. This is definetly a summery top unless you were to layer it over another top or wear it with a cardi. Matching the top with an outfit is easy. Leggings, shorts, bodycon skirts.. it goes with anything. I wear mine with denim high waisted shorts and tights, i've worn it with leggings but i didn't feel comfortable as obviously leggings are best with longer tops. Sizes available are 6-16. I got an 8 as i'm a size 8 but because of the stretchiness i wish i'd got a 6 so it would be a bit more tighter. I have washed this 2 times (in the washing machine) and it hasn't shrunk, bobbled, faded or anything like that which is great and it's still nice and soft. Overall as i said before the top was worth every penny. I have a feeling it will be sold out come the more warmer weather due to the high demand of similar prints, so if you want one i'd reccomend to get one now!
I am a big lover of the USA fashion that is currently on top of the summer trends, and as soon as I could find some tops I liked with the USA flag on, I bought them. One of these tops is the Soul Cal Deluxe Stars and Stripes Bandeau Top. I found it on Amazon when I was looking through their clothing section, and I have owned a few items of Soul Cal clothing before, and I have found them to be of top quality and great style, so I was really happy to buy this one. I loved the way it looked, and at just £7.99, I found it to be a total bargain. Once the top arrived, the first thing I noticed was that the top was a good, thick cotton and was very soft. I was really surprised with the quality of the top, as I wasn't expecting it to be as amazing as it was. The top is a cropped style, and when I put it on, it came just under my bust, skimming my ribs. I am not very confident with my stomach, so I felt a little uncomfortable in this top, and I could not go outside without wearing a light cardigan on top of it. You could still see the top, so this was ok, and it looked quite nice like this. I was a little worried that the top would not stay in place, as it has no straps, and my boobs aren't exactly tiny, so I have had top nightmares before where the top slid down a bit too low!! Luckily, this top stayed perfectly in place, and I had no worries with it what so ever. It was very soft on my skin, and was really comfortable to wear. This top is machine washable, and is safe to place into a cool tumble, so it was easy to wash along with my other clothes. It was still just as thick and soft when it was washed and dried, and no matter how many times it was washed and dried, the top never faded in any way. Sadly this top is now too big for me to wear, as I have lost a lot of weight, so I am awaiting delivery of a smaller size. I am really happy with this top, and I can not wait for my new one to arrive, as I miss wearing it. I totally recommend this top, as it is totally in fashion right now, cheap to buy and great quality. If you want to buy one of these, you can still buy them on Amazon and also on www.MandMdirect.com for the brilliant price of £7.99. 5 out of 5 from me.
Some may take one look at the top and think that it definitely isn't for them due to the amount of skin exposed when wearing this top but there is a variety of ways to wear this top meaning that it can be styled to everyone's taste. The bralet type tops have been in fashion for a few months now and I must admit I was apprehensive before I decided to purchase this top but I loved the quirky design and decided to give it a try. **The Look** As previously mentioned this top is a bralet type top meaning that it covers up your chest area but stops beneath your bra. The design is a faded American flag incorporating the famous stars and stripes, the back of the bralet is just white and red stripes. It has a subtle sweetheart neckline which means it is flattering and can be worn with or without a bra. I tend to wear this top with a waterfall waistcoat or a long cardigan to counter act the shortness of this top, but my favourite way to wear it is with a high waisted maxi skirt on a night out. High waisted bottoms mean that your stomach area isn't exposed. Some of my friends have also bought this top and plan to wear it on holiday or at festivals this summer. **The material** The material is very elastic for a tight fitted look and is soft on the skin, it is the same style as a bodycon dress or skirt. The material is durable and washes well, mine has been washed 3-4 times and still looks the same as it did when I bought it. **The Cost** The cost of this top is £7.99, although there isn't much material it is highly fashionable so I didn't mind paying that price. Also if you draw comparisons to TopShop this bralet is very inexpensive. If you wish to purchase this top online you will have to pay a delivery price of £2.99 or free if your order is over £100. **Availability** This top is available from Republic stores (you can check online for your nearest store!) or online at www.republic.co.uk. You may also find this top on Ebay as it is really popular. **Overall** This top is very versatile and I would recommend this top for anyone who is considering buying a bralet, the design is great and I anticipate that this top will last for a long time as it feels like it is made from good quality material.
