I love cardigans and when i came across this around 3 months ago on the Littlewood's website, i really liked it - it's something new and unusual in my eyes, mainly because of the zip - most cardigans have buttons so this made me feel it was a very unique product which led to me buying it. The pretty drape/ruffle effects on the pocket add a lovely feminine look and all in all i love this cardigan.
I paid £25 for this cardigan but it's currently reduced to £10 which is a bargain and i'm actually planning on buying another upon discovering that it's reduced! £25 does seem a little steep for a cardigan, however because it's so versatile and good quality, i personally feel it's worth every penny and would happily pay full price for another one!
The cardigan is a v neck boyfriend cardigan. The v neck adds a lovel feminine look to it and the 'boyfriend' style makes the cardigan much more of a slouchy/casual cardigan then the sort of top that would be worn on a night out as it's quite baggy and just generally a cardi that's nice to wear on lazy days. It has full length sleeves and a zip fastening which is easy to use and never gets stuck. The zip trail is also nice and discreet. It has 2 pockets which have a lovely vintage-look drape detailing on each. I was concerned at first that the drape effect may make me look big around my hips but they're actually very flattering and the pockets are deep enough to securely put phones/ipods without the worry they may drop out.
Matching this cardigan with an outfit is simple. Because it's long (it comes just below my bottom), it's an ideal top to wear with leggings. I also wear mine with jeans/denim shorts with a vest or t shirt underneath and overall the cardigan is very casual looking due to the slightly oversized fit and pretty basic style, but because of the v neck and pocket detailing it's still quite flattering and feminine. It can be also dressed up a bit with jewellery.
I have this cardigan in grey, and it's also available in black, beige, khaki and a creamy white. Sizes start at a 6 and go all the way up to a 22 so it is obviously a versatile item of clothing which looks good on anyone. I would reccomend getting your true size and not a size bigger for a baggy look, as i have personally found that even my true size (8), is baggy on me so it is obviously the design of the cardi to be oversized.
The cardigan is 100% vicose and is soft, stretchy (on the arms), and lightweight enough for summer. It's not very warm so is best for the summer/autumn unless worn over a warm top.The zip looks good either undone with the cardi open or zipped all the way up. Looking after it is easy - it's machine washable and washes well - no bobbling, fading, shrinking or any issues with the zip coming off.
Overall a comfy and somewhat unique cardigan which most people will feel comfy in. Worth the money!
When it comes to wearing thick, heavy jumpers I never have been a fan of them to be honest. I like cardigans and I prefer them thinnish and light which is why recently when I spotted these boyfriend cardigans in sizes 6-22 in colours - grey marl, oatmeal marl, black, camel and khaki all at £12.00 each on offer on Kay&co.com (and shown in the paper catalogue) I ordered size 10 in the khaki, camel and in the black to try on as I really wanted some new cardis for the summer and liked the look of these and when I tried them on I was so glad I ordered the 3 colours as I ended up keeping them all. Now thought these are back selling at that original price of £24.00 a cardigan...however are they worth it? They really are and are a Godsend to me!
Being 5.8 and not particularly petite as such I was worried when ordering these. They are refereed to as petite and so I thought maybe they would be shorter in length than I would appreciate or have shortish arms but no these are actually very generous in size and I feel that these come up large and in my opinion mine looks and feels like a size 12 and I think it is meant to be that way and the simple sort of slouchy, modern style.
Made from viscose it has a v neck to the front of it and a long zip that goes all the way to the bottom of it which matches the colour of the material of the cardigan. To either side of the cardigan there are very large and deep slouchy looking pockets and long ribbed cuffs to the bottom of each arm so that if you want to you can fold them over. The back is simply plain, the feel is smooth and it really is a very lightweight piece of clothing indeed. It is machine washable and suitable for tumble drying and I've had no issues with anything like colour fade or any of them going out of shape or owt like that.
Versatile and easy to match up with most outfits this is made from none scratchy material with a sort of jersey feel to it with plenty of give. I love my cardigans and my only regret is that I didn't get one in every colour as they keep drafts off me, compliment any outfit and look smart enough whilst giving the image of the comfort it supplies. A lovely, well worth the money cardi from Kay & Co and highly regarded and recommended from me!
