Lovely skirts at a great price

I came across these skirts whilst browsing the Very website in search of a few outfits I can wear to parties over the festive season. The reason this caught my eye was the lovely colour, and I was pleased to see that it had £5 off it's usual price of £25 so I was able to buy it for just £20.

The skirt is available in Teal and Black ,and I ended up ordering both as they seemed like a bargain. The Teal colour is actually nothing like in the photo above, but there is another picture (the one I gave dooyoo and they chose not to use) on the website which shows the actual colour of the skirt, which is much more of a light blue and really shouldn't be called Teal at all. It is however an absolutely lovely colour which looks great. The black one also looks great, it's a very deep black, not at all wishy-washy like black clothes sometimes can be.

It comes in sizes 8 - 24 which is a pretty good size range, and it's also available in tall and petite version for those who are particularly tall or short. I usually wear a size 10 in skirts and trousers but with this being a slim-fitting style I was worried it may be a bit too tight, so I ordered both the 10 and the 12 to try. I found that as suspected the 10 was a little tight, not uncomfortably so but just enough that I felt I looked a bit squeezed into it. The 12 on the other hand felt a little big, particularly around my waist. Although neither of them felt like a perfect fit I opted to keep the size 12 as I felt it looked the best of the two and I would most likely be wearing it with a wide waist belt anyway.

I was a little worried that the length wouldn't be right as I'm 5'6" but I have long legs so I often find skirts come up too short on me and look quite odd, but these fall perfectly below my knees, almost exactly as in the above picture, so I didn't have to send them back in exchange for the tall version as I've often had to do in the past.

One thing that really surprised me about these skirts was how high quality they look. For £20 I wasn't expecting a lot but they actually do look very high quality and expensive. The satin material is great and feels lovely, and they're lined with a contrasting colour (black on the teal one and pink on the black one) which makes them look much more expensive than they actually are.

These skirts are really versatile, as with any pencil skirt they can be made to look really sexy for a night out or professional for a day in the office. However you wear them they are very flattering especially for girls with curves, they really show your figure off to it's full potential. Add sky-high heels and a waist-cinching belt for the ultimate hourglass look.

These skirts are handwash only and unlike a lot of items I have I would never risk machine washing them as I really wouldn't want to spoil them. They come up lovely when handwashed and they've kept their colour, shape and lovely satin feel really well.

Overall I would definitely recommend these skirts, they're fantastic for the price and are sure to become staples in my wardrobe.
