I love the look of disco pants but I really don't see the point in paying so much money for them when there are much cheaper dupes available. I've got quite a few pairs of leather-look leggings but these are definitely my favourite.
I got these around four months ago and I've had so much fun styling them. Despite how much wear I've got out of them they still look amazing and unlike the similar, cheaper ones that I have they haven't lost their shape. These are £32.00 - more than half the price of disco pants and they look identical. They're available in two colours - black and mink. I was tempted to get them in mink as the black ones are quite common now - everyone seems to have a pair, but in the end I did get the black as the mink ones just didn't look right on me.
These are classed as leggings but they feel like trousers and I wear mine as trousers rather than styling them with long tops like I do with leggings. The design is pretty simple - they're faux leather ankle length leggings. Unlike a lot of the other (cheaper) leather leggings available, they do actually look like real leather rather than cheap and plasticy.
I like that rather than being plain they have zip detailing on the side of them and the inside of the ankles and this gives them that extra bit of detailing but some people will see this as a disadvantage because the American Apparrel disco pants don't have the zip detailing so it is obvious that these aren't actually original disco pants. I personally like the zip detailing though and in my opinion it makes them look more 'rock chic'. The ankle zips can easily be hidden with a pair of boots and the side zips can be covered with a medium-length top.
The seam detailing is very subtle but it adds a little more detail which I like. The leggings are high waisted and unlike the original disco pants they don't button up, they just have the side zip. Putting them on is suprisingly easy - the inside is lined so it's just like slipping a pair of trousers on - much easier than unlined leather leggings!! I wouldn't say that they're comfortable as they're very tight and quite stiff, but I'd rather them look nice than feel nice as if they weren't stiff they would be baggy which isn't very attractive! I've not had any trouble with them being baggy around my crotch, knees or ankles and they cling to my skin which is really flattering and slimming.
They make my legs look longer and thinner, especially when I pair them with heels. Styling these is easy and they can be dressed up or down. If I'm wearing these during the day then I will wear them with a tee shirt/vest/cardi/blazer/leather jacket, but if I'm wearing them to go clubbing then I almost always wear them with a floral bralet. I've had a lot of comments from friends and members of the opposite sex about how nice these look which is a confidence boost and I feel amazing when I'm wearing them!!
I have these in a size six as I wanted them to be extra tight. I'm usually a small size 8 and they're tight but not as tight as I had expected. Sizes available are UK6 to 16. The material is synthetic (100% polyurethane) and they're machine washable. I've washed my pair countless times and they look great - no fading or anything. Overall, I highly recommend these leggings and I give them five out of five stars.
