      lovely pair of shorts

Unless you have been in a coma over the summer or hybernating then you will know that high waisted shorts are very big this year (I think they will stay through winter too just with a good pair of tights!). Although, most pairs mean you have half your bum showing which I don't favour unless you have a really nice bum. Despite this I wear them all the same! Usually I opt for blue denim but I decided to be brave and add some colour to my wardrobe.

The shorts are high waisted and on me, they come to just above my belly button which is perfect as they are just the right height. They are corded so they are not completely smoothed, but they feel and look really nice. Like most shorts, there are two plain pockets on the back and two on the front. On the first wear they were quite stiff, but once washed they loosened a little and have not got looser yet so they still fit well. They haven't bobbled or lost their shape at all. The colour doesn't run in the wash either which I did think it would.

At £28 they are also incredibly cheap for Topshop which I was surprised by - especially as most of the time shorts cost more. I would recommend going into the shop though as otherwise you will have to pay for postage. The sizes range from 6-16 but I needed to try these on as I am usually a 6 in Topshop trousers/skirts/shorts etc, but I needed an 8.

My favourite part of these shorts is the length. They are short enough to be hot pants, but not short enough to show off your derriere. They look really good with pretty much any top (as long as it goes with red of course) and can be worn with cardigan and tights for colder days, or just a t-shirt and sandals for warmer days. I have worn these out once before and they did look dressy but still casual which is nice.

For such a low Topshop price I would definitely recommend these, especially with such good quality.

        I Love Them!

As almost everyone knows, Chino's are hugely in fashion this year. Unfortunetly, as much as I like the design, Chino's make me look like a hideous blob, so I avoid them at all costs. When I saw these, they insantly reminded me of Chino's and as I am a big fan of high waisted shorts I bought them. I bought mine directly from the Topshop website, and they are also available in store.

The shorts are £28 which is absoloute insanity - Topshop usually charge £35/£40 for a pair of shorts like these, so I would reccomend getting a pair before Topshop wisen up to how popular they are and up the price! These are available in sizes 6 to 16. I am a small size 8 but I like my shorts really tight, so I got a size 6. Topshop's sizing isn't very generous so it was a bit of a squeeze as the waistband hasn't got alot of stretch to it, but they look amazing on.

They're high waisted as I said before and are really short with turn up hems. They are only available in a deep red which I love, and they have 2 pockets on the back and 2 pockets on the front - one with stud detailing which I am not keen on - I would prefer it without, but nevermind - despite that I love them. The pockets can't really fit much/anything in them so they are more for display rather than for use. The button on the front is really eye catching and they have loop holes on the front & back so can be worn with a belt.

The material is 99% cotton and 1% elastane, it's got quite a tough feel to it but the shorts are comfy and soft. The cord and stitch detailing makes them look denim.

These are really eye catching and I love them, they show my figure off nicely and are a nice alternative to the chinos/colour block jeans which are in fashion at the minute. As it is summer I have worn these quite a bit, they're not ideal for the really hot days though as they're not the most lightweight pair of shorts. Matching these with an outfit is easy, I usually just wear them with heels and a vest, or a nice summery T shirt. They do clash with red tops so I wouldn't reccomend that!

Overall a nice pair of shorts which are very reasonably priced considering the brand name and the quality.
