“ Brand: Toni / Type: Underwear - Socks „
Socks are an often overlooked fashion accessory, but I love them and especially enjoy wearing statement socks. I have a bit of an obsession for over the knee socks, practically to the point of fetish. My other half bought these for me on a trip to London (I think he found them in the Camden markets), and they're also available at various online retailers. They're made by a company called Toni and are described as "black over the knee socks with black ribbon bow detail".

These socks fit me perfectly, along the foot and all the way up the leg. The length is just right for an over the knee sock, and the ribbed cuff gives a good enough grip to keep them up without suffering the horrendous unrolling or slipping down that you get with some long socks. The fabric is soft and comfortable to wear and feels nice against the skin. The elastene content allows for a good close fit and ensures that you can easily put them on and take them off. The socks stretch to fit and give a nice tight covering without being restrictive.
The devil is in the detail, and these socks are transformed from plain to cute by the addition of tiny little bows. The ribbon bows are attached to the back of the sock in a vertical line that represents the look of a stocking seam. This provides an interesting detail that can dress up an ordinary outfit in a simple way. They look very cute and go great with everyday outfits as well as the gothic Lolita style that I sometimes adopt. The bows are positioned neatly and do not cause any discomfort when wearing with shoes, although I can sometimes feel the bows pressing into the back of my leg if I am wearing the socks with boots that cover them up somewhat. This is a slight annoyance but doesn't cause any issues.
The socks are very well made and are high quality compared to some other fashion socks that I've owned. The RRP is a hefty £15.99, but I would say it's worth it as they have lasted incredibly well and have stood up to a lot of wear. I've had these socks for just over a year now and the elastic has not stretched out of place, they still stay up well and fit nicely without sagging. All of the bows have stayed in place and not one of them has come loose or pulled off which I find impressive. A lot of the time embellishments can be sewn on weakly but these are still firmly in place and looking good as ever. I would say I've worn them about once a week since I first got them, and they go into my weekly black wash at the end of the week. For a pair of socks that have gone through around 52 washes, they have done a remarkable job of staying in good condition! I am only just getting to see some signs of wear, and that it just a greying of the fabric, most notably underneath the foot area. Other than that there is no thinning or bobbling etc so they are still in a good, wearable condition.
These Bow Seam Socks look gorgeous, fit nicely, and are a high quality item that wears well over time. I love my pair and would definitely recommend them.
